On December 22, Simcere (02096) announced that it had entered into an exclusive licensing agreement with Ipsen for its developed antibody-drug conjugate SIM0613. Under the agreement, Ipsen will obtain global exclusive rights for development, manufacturing, and commercialization outside of Greater China.

The announcement pointed out that the Group is entitled to receive payments of up to US$1.06 billion, including a US$45 million upfront payment, as well as R&D, regulatory, and commercial milestone payments, and tiered sales royalties.

SIM0613 is a novel antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) targeting leucine-rich repeat-containing protein 15 (LRRC15), which can effectively kill tumor cells with minimal impact on normal cells. The drug has demonstrated significant tumor regression effects in various preclinical in vivo models, marking an important advancement for the company in the field of oncology.
