On July 10, Mingyi Zhonghe Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Mingyi Zhonghe”) and Guangdong Akang Health Technology Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Akang Health”) signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Beijing to jointly build a new retail platform for non-routine medications at the primary care level.
On that day, Wang Lijue, Chairman of Akang Health, and his delegation visited the Beijing headquarters of Mingyi Zhonghe. They were deeply impressed by the achievements and development plans of the Yidebang platform, built by Mingyi Zhonghe, in the primary healthcare market. Wang Lijue held in-depth discussions with Jiang Qiang, Founder and CEO of Mingyi Zhonghe. The two parties reached a high level of consensus on their core values and jointly decided to establish a strategic partnership. By leveraging their respective strengths and integrating resources, they aim to contribute to the health and well-being of people at the grassroots level.
For a long time, the demand for clinical medications for critical illnesses, chronic diseases, and rare diseases (hereinafter referred to as “non-routine medications”) in the primary healthcare market has not been effectively met. Due to shortages of medical resources and medications, missed diagnoses and misdiagnoses are highly prevalent among grassroots populations seeking care for these conditions. To access effective diagnosis and treatment, patients in remote mountainous areas must travel long distances to major cities, incurring high time costs and significant financial burdens. This physical and mental exhaustion often forces patients to endure their illnesses without proper care. Furthermore, delays in diagnosis and treatment caused by medication unavailability exacerbate patients’ conditions, sometimes resulting in irreversible harm. This situation brings considerable misfortune to patients’ families and imposes a heavy burden on society.
Jiang Qiang believes that the root cause of the difficulties and high costs associated with accessing medical care lies in the inadequate diagnostic and treatment capabilities of primary healthcare institutions, stemming from shortages of medical personnel and medications. He and his team leveraged internet technologies to build "Yidebang," a clinic ecosystem service platform. By focusing on clinic informatization as an entry point, the platform enhances overall clinic operations and clinical capabilities through four modules: "Cloud Clinic" (empowering daily management), "Cloud Medical Care" (empowering diagnostic and therapeutic capabilities), "Cloud Pharmacy" (empowering pharmaceutical services), and "Cloud Education" (continuously enhancing clinical skills). This approach facilitates resource sharing across medical services, diagnostics, pharmaceuticals, and education, thereby addressing the practical challenges of insufficient medical resources and drug shortages in primary healthcare.
Wang Lijue stated that Akang Health is a comprehensive group company specializing in the operation of prescription drugs for chronic diseases, chronic disease management, hospital prescription circulation, e-commerce operations, and the growth of out-of-hospital prescriptions. With the mission of “making no drug hard to find,” it has established a robust pharmaceutical supply chain system covering chronic, critical, and rare diseases. The company offers over 12,000 prescription drugs for chronic diseases, serves more than 500 domestic and international pharmaceutical manufacturers, holds exclusive out-of-hospital distribution rights for over 200 products, and provides more than 1,000 medications for chronic, critical, and rare diseases. Leveraging the extensive coverage of its Yidebang platform in the primary healthcare market, Akang Health effectively addresses the challenges where primary care physicians can make diagnoses but lack access to necessary medications, and patients possess prescriptions but are unable to obtain their treatments.
To better meet the medication needs of the general public at the grassroots level, Mingyi Zhonghe, leveraging the Yidebang platform, has established a nationwide “Cloud Pharmacy” network dedicated to serving grassroots communities, positioning small and micro medical institutions as execution points at the frontline of healthcare. Currently, Mingyi Zhonghe has established a strong presence in central China, with over 80 Cloud Pharmacies built across more than 100 prefecture-level cities, providing multi-dimensional services to nearly 60,000 clinics.
Through strategic collaboration, Mingyi Zhonghe and Akang Health are jointly building a new retail platform for non-routine medications at the primary care level, with the model of “leveraging small B-side entities as front-end service hubs to meet C-side demand for non-routine medications.” This initiative further strengthens both parties’ capacity to address the shortage of medical resources and medications in primary healthcare. It enables patients to seek diagnosis at hospitals and obtain medications at village clinics, thereby establishing the first line of defense for chronic disease rehabilitation, prevention, and control in China’s primary care system. The platform facilitates early detection and treatment for patients, empowers physicians with diagnostic and prescribing capabilities, and ensures that residents in grassroots communities have access to appropriate and high-quality medications.
