CDHIC Wuhan Finalists Announce IPO Filing: Top Medical Innovation Projects Revealed

On August 18, with clear skies and cool, pleasant weather following the rain in Wuhan, the Wuhan Division Finals of the China Health and Medical Big Data Industry Innovation Competition (CDHIC) concluded successfully at the Optics Valley Smart Health Park. Twenty-five medical innovation projects competed fiercely throughout the day. Ultimately, Shijiazhuang Hanwei Medical Equipment Co., Ltd., Focal Healthcare Inc., and Beijing Zechuang Tiancheng Biopharmaceutical Technology Co., Ltd. secured first, second, and third place, respectively, in the Growth Star category; while Beijing Yizhun Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd., Hefei Kangling Medical Technology Co., Ltd., and Hangzhou Heyi Information Technology Co., Ltd. took first, second, and third place, respectively, in the Angel Star category.

"Angel Star" First Place: Beijing Yizhun Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. is a company specializing in AI-assisted medical imaging diagnosis, boasting a top-tier machine learning algorithm team. The company's CEO, Lv Chenchong, graduated from Peking University and has many years of experience in medical device product management and sales at GE and Siemens, where he served as Regional Sales Director. The CTO, Ding Jia, also graduated from Peking University, has won multiple international AI healthcare competitions including LUNA16 and Kaggle, was the champion of the domestic round of the Asia-Pacific University Robot Competition, and previously worked at Alibaba. The company currently offers products such as a pulmonary nodule screening system and a breast cancer screening system.

Second Place: Rising Star – Focal Healthcare Inc. is a medical imaging equipment company with a vision to further improve prostate cancer care by developing a suite of guidance devices. The company has pioneered the world’s first navigation system for prostate cancer biopsy, which leverages MRI and ultrasound technologies to provide real-time biopsy targeting with MRI-level precision, significantly enhancing the accuracy and success rate of biopsy procedures. Its technology aims to substantially increase the accuracy of prostate cancer biopsies while greatly reducing the financial, workflow, and integration barriers associated with other fusion products. The company’s first-generation product line, comprising two models, is already being sold in Canada, the United States, and Hong Kong.

It addresses the current prevalence of disorganized and fraudulent medical information in China’s healthcare sector, enabling people to access professional, trustworthy medical information and services more conveniently.

The “Emerging” projects in the Wuhan division span 11 sectors, with most at pre-Series A financing stages, demonstrating a strong demand for resource empowerment.


The 30 healthcare innovation projects shortlisted for the Wuhan division finals of the CDHIC have generally been in operation for a relatively short period, with most of their parent companies established in 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018. Compared to other regional finals, the shortlisted projects in this division cover a broader range of fields—up to 11 categories—including healthcare informatics, clinical tools, medical devices, general wellness, tech-enabled healthcare, consumer healthcare, maternal and child health, biotechnology, rehabilitation and nursing, and primary care. Among these, projects in healthcare informatics and tech-enabled healthcare remain the dominant forces, accounting for 14% and 27% of the total shortlisted projects, respectively. In terms of financing stages, 91% of the projects shortlisted for the Wuhan division finals are at pre-Series A stages, indicating a stronger demand for resource empowerment compared to other regions.

Representatives from CEC Data and CEC Digital Finance welcomed the judges, guests, and participating project representatives present at the event. They expressed their gratitude to Optics Valley Smart Health Park, the co-organizer of the Wuhan division, for its strong support of this regional final. The representatives also provided a brief introduction to CEC Data, CEC Digital Finance, and the CEC Health Industry Fund, and summarized several landmark events in the field of medical innovation in 2018.
