On the evening of September 11, 2018, iCarbonX, a global biotech unicorn, announced that its joint venture with Orient Securities International (1140.HK), a leading cross-border and cross-industry investment firm, named Orient-iCarbonX, had formally signed a series of cooperation agreements with a wholly-owned subsidiary of Dachen Foods (“999.HK”). The two parties will jointly establish a joint venture company called Better Me Precision Nutrition Limited (“BetterMe”).
The joint venture aims to leverage biotechnology, life big data, and artificial intelligence to conduct dynamic, intelligent analysis of members’ health data. By integrating its expertise and advantages in the research and development, production, and operational management of healthy food and catering services, it seeks to become a leading provider of precision nutrition dining solutions.
Industry + Finance + Technology: Aligning with the Trends of Precision Nutrition and Consumption Upgrading
The deep integration of biotechnology with traditional industries and financial capital is an inevitable trend. iCarbonX is actively leveraging its technological expertise in life big data and artificial intelligence, partnering with industry leaders to consolidate high-growth sectors and achieve cross-industry synergy.
The joint venture, Better Me, will integrate the advantageous resources of iCarbonX, Dongying Finance, and Dachen Food in their respective fields to provide customized precision nutrition dining solutions. The joint venture will align with the National Nutrition Plan policy in China, meeting contemporary consumers’ demands for consumption upgrading, particularly in the areas of precision nutrition and precision health.
Specifically, Better Me will leverage the technological support of iCarbonX to customize core testing indicators and conduct assessments based on biotechnology and artificial intelligence, addressing consumers' demand for precision nutrition. It will then generate personalized nutrition analysis reports aligned with individual consumer profiles and provide tailored dietary solutions.
In addition, Better Me will continuously track members’ dietary habits through its mobile app or mini-program and provide regular testing services. While validating the effectiveness of its offerings, the company will continually enhance its precision nutrition solutions.
Meanwhile, Better Me will further integrate animal protein products, fully leveraging CP Group’s full-industry-chain advantages in raw material procurement, product R&D, supply chain management, and comprehensive sales channels. This strategy aims to transform precision nutrition catering solutions into nutritious and delicious food products, while conducting online and offline marketing promotions to establish a closed-loop industrial ecosystem.
Precision Nutrition Membership Program: Targeting Over 1 Million Cumulative Members in Three Years
For the Better Me product series, Dachen Foods has been operating for over two years, accumulating a substantial consumer base. This has laid the foundation for the future promotion of precision nutrition products and member conversion. Better Me’s primary target market consists of white-collar professionals and fitness enthusiasts who prioritize nutritional health and body shaping, with the goal of accumulating over one million precision nutrition members within three years.
Members will be able to use the Better Me Precision Nutrition app or mini-program to purchase personalized nutritional meal solutions and related products, with delivery facilitated through meal delivery services, cold-chain logistics, and offline channels such as partner gyms and new-retail supermarkets.
Wang Jun, Founder and CEO of iCarbonX, stated, “Since its inception, iCarbonX has been committed to accumulating and building a multi-dimensional life data platform. We aim to leverage this foundation to provide consumers with more precise health management services.” He revealed that precision nutrition has always been one of iCarbonX’s key areas of investment and focus, as well as an important component in building its digital life ecosystem.
“We are optimistic about Dacheng’s strengths in food R&D, production, and catering operations management, as well as Dongying’s capabilities in capital operations and resource integration. We believe that the collaboration among the three companies will undoubtedly create unprecedented value,” he added.
