Two Major Deals Announced in Autoimmune Disease Sector.


December 15,Dren Bio and Sanofi Expand Collaboration to Develop Next-Generation B-Cell Depletion Therapies. This collaboration is based on Sanofi's acquisition in March this year of Dren Bio's clinical-stage project DR-0201 (SAR448501), which demonstrated B-cell depletion capabilities in two Phase 1 studies. According to the agreement,Dren Bio to Receive $100 Million Upfront Payment and Up to $1.7 Billion in Milestone Payments, creating the highest potential trading volume last week. Dren Bio's targeted myeloid engagement and phagocytosis platform clears diseased B cells by enhancing the phagocytic mechanism, with its multispecific antibody design activating only in the presence of the target.


On the same day,Adaptive Biotechnologies Reaches Two Non-Exclusive Agreements with Pfizer: Through its T-cell receptor (TCR) antigen database and AI-driven platform, it assists Pfizer in identifying pathogenic TCR targets for rheumatoid arthritis, and licenses the database for training AI drug discovery models, enhancing drug discovery across multiple disease areas.The total transaction amount may be as high as approximately USD 890 million.


Last week, Sanofi also reached a cooperation in the CNS field.ADEL Grants Global Rights of Alzheimer's Antibody Therapy ADEL-Y01 to Sanofi in a Deal Worth Up to $1.04 BillionADEL-Y01 is a monoclonal antibody that selectively targets the acetylation site of tau protein (acK280), selectively inhibits the aggregation and spread of toxic tau protein, while maintaining the function of normal microtubule-associated tau protein. A global Phase 1 clinical trial is currently being initiated.


Caris Life Sciences and Genentech, a member of the Roche Group, have entered into a multi-year collaboration and license agreement with a potential total value of $1.125 billion to jointly identify and validate novel therapeutic targets in solid tumors.Caris Life Sciences can integrate a library of nearly 500,000 solid tumor samples, along with matched comprehensive molecular and clinical data, to provide partners with flexible target discovery capabilities.


In addition, Chinese innovative drug companies have reached multiple outbound licensing cooperation deals.


Changchun High-Tech's subsidiary GenSci announced that its wholly-owned subsidiaryGenSci Medical Grants Global Rights of GenSci098 (YB-101) to U.S.-Based Yarrow Bioscience, Inc. (Excluding Greater China)`, will receive a $120 million upfront payment and near-term development milestone payments,`Up to $1.365 billion in milestone paymentsGenSci098 is a humanized thyroid-stimulating hormone receptor (TSHR) antagonistic monoclonal antibody. By specifically binding to TSHR in the thyroid or retrobulbar tissue, it blocks the binding of TSHR with autoantibodies, thereby inhibiting the synthesis and release of thyroid hormones, suppressing the proliferation of thyroid cells, preventing the release of hyaluronic acid and inflammatory factors, and improving hyperthyroidism and related complications.


HBM and Bristol-Myers Squibb to Co-develop Next-generation Multi-specific Antibody Therapies Using Proprietary Fully Human Antibody Platform Harbour Mice. According to the agreement,Harbour BioMed to Receive $90 Million Upfront Payment and is Eligible for up to $1.035 Billion in Development and Commercial Milestone Payments, as well as tiered royalties based on the net sales of future products.


Hansoh Pharma Grants Exclusive Rights of Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer Drug Aumolertinib in Specified Regions to Glenmark for Over $1 Billion. This drug is a third-generation EGFR-TKI innovative drug, which has been approved for four indications in China and received approval from the UK MHRA for marketing in June 2025.
