Recently, VCBeat (WeChat official account: vcbeat) learned from foreign media reports that Future Family, a fertility health company based in San Francisco, California, raised $10 million in its Series A financing round. The round was led by Aspect Ventures, with participation from iNovia, BBG Ventures, LaunchCapital, RiverPark Ventures, Ulu Ventures, Day One Ventures, and Portfolia. Following the completion of this financing, Lauren Kolodny, a partner at Aspect Ventures, will join the board of directors of Future Family.
Future Family was founded in 2016 by Claire Tomkins and Eve Blossom. The company’s inception was closely tied to the personal fertility journey of its CEO, Claire Tomkins. Having personally experienced the high cost of fertility services, she underwent six rounds of in vitro fertilization (IVF) at a total expense exceeding $100,000. This experience inspired her to transform the fertility journey for other women and couples. Leveraging her background in consumer finance, Claire Tomkins established Future Family to alleviate the financial burden associated with fertility care for women and couples.

Future Family integrates fintech, fertility services, and concierge care to empower women and couples with greater autonomy and more personalized support throughout their fertility journey. The company also offers flexible financing options, allowing clients to commence services immediately and cancel at any time. Furthermore, Future Family provides access to in vitro fertilization (IVF), egg freezing, and 24/7 on-demand support, with all associated medical costs consolidated into a single monthly payment. Additionally, the company tailors cost-effective fertility plans to ensure clients can afford optional services, such as genetic testing, as well as travel expenses when necessary.
Claire Tomkins, Founder and CEO of Future Family, stated, “Future Family aims to deliver stress-free care. Our primary step is to provide convenient, personalized subscription services that are affordable for our customers. Furthermore, we offer a comprehensive support system to help clients navigate their complex medical journeys. We are thrilled to partner with the Aspect Ventures team, who share our passion for addressing this challenge.”
Over the past year, Future Family has doubled its network of specialized fertility nurses and expanded its clinical partner program to include top-tier clinics across China, such as CCRM, Vios Fertility, and HRC. Following the completion of this funding round, the company intends to leverage the capital to extend its new subscription service to leading fertility clinics nationwide.
Regarding this financing round, Antoine Nivard, Head of iNovia Capital, stated: “We have always been looking for companies with the potential to leverage technology to develop superior consumer experiences and drive business model innovation. Future Family excels in both areas.”
