Huawei Strengthens 'Platform + Ecosystem' Strategy in Healthcare with Strategic Partnership with Yinggu Network
In late autumn, the Huawei Research Institute in southern Xi’an is enveloped in profound silence; its vast campus pathways are carpeted with fan-shaped ginkgo leaves.
After more than two years of engagement with Huawei, Huang Yedong, Chairman of Yinggu Network, ultimately led Yinggu to reach a cooperation agreement with Huawei. The signing ceremony was held at Huawei’s Xi’an Research Institute. Hong Fangming, President of Huawei Cloud China Region, and Huang Yedong, Chairman of Yinggu, both attended the ceremony. Zhang Feng, Head of Huawei’s Shaanxi Enterprise Business Department, and Wang Zhiping, Vice President of Yinggu, signed the cooperation agreement on behalf of their respective parties. Addressing the three major challenges in healthcare, Huawei advocates for solutions driven by internet-thinking models, with a primary focus on resource allocation and health management. Huawei’s specific R&D achievements in the healthcare sector include AI-powered products such as its DLI gene sequencing solution and cloud-based AI analysis solutions for cervical cancer pathology slides. However, Huawei’s core focus remains on building a comprehensive, all-scenario cloud platform. To this end, Huawei has established a National Public Health Platform on the cloud, with the ultimate goal of “making medical care accessible, affordable, and secure for everyone.”
The ecosystem design of the “Platform + Ecosystem” model requires guarantees in three areas: first, infrastructure; second, the data layer; and third, the application layer. Huawei’s extensive internet business lines can ensure a sufficient supply of consumer-side (C-end) information sources, while its self-developed cloud platform is capable of providing enterprises with high-quality database services and application development services. A mature “Platform + Ecosystem” can enable resource incubation and automation capabilities.
Compared with 2017, Huawei Cloud has achieved significant growth through sustained accumulation: its revenue increased sevenfold year-on-year, the number of partners grew by 45%, 872 new applications were added to the cloud marketplace, more than 200 industry solutions were provided, over 4,500 new features were introduced, and a portfolio of more than 120 effective cloud services has been established.
Through this collaboration, Huawei will receive a significant gift from the medical sector provided by Yinggu, as Yinggu’s SaaS-layer services will integrate with Huawei’s IaaS and PaaS-layer services to form an efficient cloud service system.
In the future, Huawei and Xi'an Yinggu Network Technology Co., Ltd. will jointly promote the flattening and homogenization of medical resources in China and even globally, spark intelligent insights in “inclusive AI,” create more compelling applications, and co-build a new “Healthcare + AI” ecosystem.

Another electronic screen displays a statistical chart of Yizhen Cloud’s daily consultation volume. Each examination or minimally invasive surgery performed on the medical technology platform is connected in real time to the Yizhen Cloud, causing the light dot representing the hospital’s location to flash once.
As shown in the figure below, by 11:30 a.m., the light had already flashed 52,710 times. Huang Yedong told VCBeat, “Yizhen Cloud currently handles over 70,000 consultations per day, with a cumulative total exceeding 28 million. It has been deployed in more than 1,600 hospitals and boasts a substantial client base in regions such as Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, Fujian, and Hebei. Excluding Taiwan, Yizhen Cloud’s hospital deployments now cover the entire country.”
