On November 8, 2018, the Chinese Radiology Congress 2018, jointly organized by the Chinese Society of Radiology and the Chinese Society of Medical Imaging Technology under the Chinese Medical Association—also serving as the 25th National Academic Conference on Radiology and the 26th National Academic Conference on Medical Imaging Technology of the Chinese Medical Association—was officially convened at the China National Convention Center in Beijing. This annual academic event served not only as the joint annual meeting for these two societies but also as the academic gathering for more than twenty specialized subgroups affiliated with them. With nearly 10,000 radiology professionals in attendance, the conference was an unprecedented success.

Following joint investment from Intel Capital and Core Dynamics Capital, Huiyi Huiying has once again garnered widespread attention within the industry. On November 8, 2018, at the Chinese Congress of Radiology 2018 (CCR2018) held at the China National Convention Center in Beijing, Huiyi Huiying hosted the launch event for its “AI-Powered Full-Cycle Health Management Cloud Platform,” unveiling the “AI-Powered Full-Cycle Health Management Platform for Breast Cancer” and “AORTIST 2.0: AI-Powered Aortic Cloud Platform.”

Professor Jin Zhengyu, Chairman of the 15th Committee of the Chinese Society of Radiology, Chinese Medical Association, led the organizing committee to visit the Huiyi Huiying booth for guidance and engaged in cordial exchanges with Dr. Chai Xiangfei, Founder of Huiyi Huiying.

Only end-to-end medical AI solutions can ultimately address the challenges faced by physicians and patients.

The development of AI in medical imaging relies on close collaboration among enterprises, hospitals, and relevant government departments. The China Medical Imaging AI Industry-Academia-Research-Application Innovation Alliance facilitates the effective integration of resources across the industry and establishes a resource-sharing mechanism along the upstream and downstream segments of the industrial chain. By providing support in areas such as technical standards, database construction, and application scenario design, the Alliance helps AI medical imaging companies implement their solutions, thereby accelerating technological innovation and commercial deployment. As Chairman of the China Medical Imaging AI Industry-Academia-Research-Application Innovation Alliance, Professor Liu Shiyuan has been committed to advancing the development of the AI medical imaging industry.

Chairman Liu stated, “I have always hoped that products from medical imaging AI companies would be deployed, applied in clinical settings, and address our pain points as quickly as possible. The reason we established the China Medical Imaging AI Industry-Academia-Research-Application Innovation Alliance is to connect the upstream and downstream sectors of the medical imaging AI industry and promote its healthy and rapid development.”

Chairman Liu pointed out, “Huiyi Huiying’s AI-driven full-cycle health management products and concepts are excellent. Currently, imaging AI faces the following challenges: addressing only isolated issues fails to resolve all problems in medical imaging, and focusing solely on imaging issues does not address all medical challenges. Therefore, only end-to-end imaging AI and comprehensive medical AI solutions can ultimately alleviate physicians’ burdens, improve patient outcomes, and tackle the longstanding issues of difficult and costly access to healthcare in China.”

Finally, Chairman Liu extended his congratulations to Huiyi Huiying on the launch of its new products and expressed his sincere hope that these innovations would deliver greater value in clinical applications. Chairman Liu also expressed his expectation that more outstanding innovative enterprises like Huiyi Huiying will emerge in China’s medical imaging AI sector, enabling a broad range of physicians to benefit from the transformation and convenience brought by artificial intelligence.

Multi-party Cross-sector Collaboration Enables the Real-world Implementation and Sustained Vitality of Medical AI

Through the collective efforts of the entire industry, artificial intelligence technology continues to achieve breakthroughs, and the integration of industry, academia, research, and application in imaging AI has deepened further. As a leading imaging AI enterprise, Huiyi Huiying stands at the forefront of the industry in both technological R&D and commercial implementation. It has already been integrated into more than 800 hospitals and pioneered the launch of the “AI Full-Cycle Health Management Cloud Platform,” which covers the entire diagnosis and treatment process.

Chai Xiangfei, Founder and CEO of Huiyi Huiying, pointed out that promoting the development of imaging AI requires cross-sector integration among imaging AI companies, hospitals, and academic institutions to truly implement this new technology and ensure its vitality.

Through concerted efforts, Huiyi Huiying has launched two artificial intelligence products: “AORTIST 2.0, the AI Cloud Platform for Aortic Diseases,” which achieves full-cycle coverage of aortic disease diagnosis and treatment—from identification of intimal tears to stent selection and follow-up prognosis; and the “AI-Powered Full-Cycle Health Management Platform for Breast Cancer,” which is dedicated to quantifying and objectifying disease diagnosis across the entire breast cancer care continuum, ranging from mammography screening and MRI-based diagnosis to pathological diagnosis and pathomics.

Compared with AI 1.0 medical imaging products that merely perform disease screening and assist in diagnosis, the most prominent feature of Huiyi Huiying’s newly launched AI 2.0 product is the deep integration of AI and healthcare across three dimensions: value integration, data integration, and workflow integration.

By recommending personalized treatment decision plans and optimizing prognoses, artificial intelligence creates greater value for physicians and patients. By integrating multimodal data such as CT and MRI, and fusing multi-type data including imaging, clinical, pathological, and genomic data, a comprehensive imaging data chain is established. Imaging AI products are seamlessly integrated into physicians’ diagnostic and therapeutic workflows, enhancing efficiency without imposing additional workload.

Following joint investment from Intel Capital and Chipone Investment, Huiyi Huiying became the first medical AI enterprise in China to receive funding from both investors, further accelerating its technological R&D and product innovation.

Guo Na, co-founder of Huiyi Huiying, believes that the application of multimodal imaging data and comprehensive coverage across the entire cycle of disease diagnosis and treatment represent key industry trends. In the future, AI applications will be implemented throughout the entire clinical workflow for a wider range of diseases. Human-AI collaboration will become the norm in physicians’ daily practice, significantly enhancing the supply capacity of healthcare services in China and helping to resolve the longstanding challenges of difficult and costly access to medical care.
