Four New Smart Products Launched Simultaneously to Build an AI-Assisted Diagnosis and Treatment System

In August 2017, Tuma Shenwei launched its first intelligent diagnostic product—the Discover/Lung Nodule Intelligent Diagnostic System for pulmonary nodules. Since its release over a year ago, the system has been deployed in nearly 200 hospitals. Building on this strong foundation, Tuma Shenwei has now consecutively released four new intelligent products: the Chest X-ray Intelligent Diagnostic System (σ-Discover/Lung DR), the Mammography Intelligent Diagnostic System (σ-Discover/Mammo), the Stroke CT Intelligent Diagnostic System (σ-Discover/Stroke CT), and the Liver CT Intelligent Diagnostic System (σ-Discover/Liver CT). Focusing on real clinical needs and pain points, these solutions cover the entire workflow, including disease monitoring, quantitative analysis, disease classification, benign/malignant differentiation, follow-up tracking, and report generation, providing physicians with precise auxiliary diagnostic tools.

Tumashenwei Vice President Wu Gang Introduced Four New Smart Products at the Launch Event

1
Chest X-ray Intelligent Diagnostic System

(σ-Discover/Lung DR): Designed for thoracic DR imaging, this system enables automatic detection and localization of 15 types of chest diseases, with a sensitivity exceeding 90%. It automatically identifies various pathologies and accurately distinguishes healthy individuals, thereby enhancing physicians' workflow efficiency. Equipped with benign and malignant risk assessment capabilities, it boosts diagnostic confidence among clinicians.

2
Intelligent Diagnostic System for Mammography

(σ-Discover/Mammo): Designed for mammographic imaging, with a sensitivity of over 95% for calcifications and over 90% for masses. It intelligently identifies breast lesions and enables precise lesion localization. The system adheres to BI-RADS guidelines, providing a basis for clinical treatment.

3
Intelligent CT Diagnostic System for Stroke

(σ-Discover/StrokeCT): Rapidly detects acute hemorrhagic and ischemic lesions in CT images, determining their location, volume, risk level, and other parameters to establish a clear diagnosis and treatment plan during the critical window for emergency care, while also providing prognostic assessment.

4
Intelligent CT Diagnostic System for the Liver

(σ-Discover/Liver CT): Automatically performs liver segmentation based on CT images, intelligently detects hepatic lesions, and provides information such as the location and volume of conditions including hepatic nodules, liver cirrhosis, and fatty liver. The benign and malignant lesion assessment function guides prognostic evaluation based on the LI-RADS classification.

Wu Gang stated that Tuma Shenwei’s four new AI-powered products are currently undergoing clinical trials in hospitals. Other products, including AI diagnostic systems for prostate cancer, fractures, and diabetic retinopathy, are in intensive development. This series of products focuses on areas with high incidence rates among Chinese patients, such as tumors, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, and chronic diseases, and has been customized specifically for the Chinese patient population. In the future, Tuma Shenwei plans to release 3–5 new products annually to rapidly achieve full-process diagnostic coverage for multiple body parts, while simultaneously strengthening its expansion into overseas markets, including the United States, Europe, Japan, and Southeast Asia.

“By expanding its range of covered diseases, Tuma Shenwei has achieved a value leap from radiology to clinical practice. This robust AI-assisted diagnosis and treatment system will become the infrastructure of the entire intelligent healthcare industry and serve as a key component of Tuma Shenwei’s integrated smart service platform, which combines research, genomics, and pharmaceuticals,” introduced Wu Gang.

Tumashenwei: Staying True to Our Original Mission, Forging Ahead with Determination

Since its inception, Tumra Shenwei has relied on the strong support of medical experts both in China and abroad. At this new product launch event, Tumra Shenwei has specially invited numerous experts to attend in person, jointly witnessing the company’s dedication and growth.

Assistant to the President of Peking University People's Hospital and Director of the Department of Radiology, Hong Nan:

Peking University People’s Hospital has maintained an ongoing collaboration with TomoDeep. The fact that TomoDeep was able to invite top-tier experts to gather at this product launch event underscores the widespread recognition of its products. We have long anticipated that TomoDeep would introduce more intelligent diagnostic solutions with distinctive features, and indeed, four new products were unveiled today. Demonstrating both capability and a commitment to tangible results, TomoDeep is expected to continue providing high-quality products to clinicians in the future.

Shi Yuxin, Deputy Director of the Public Health Clinical Center Affiliated to Fudan University:

As living standards continue to rise, there is growing demand for early diagnosis and treatment of diseases. The public expects consistent, high-quality medical care; however, high-caliber physician resources are limited. Artificial intelligence offers a promising solution to achieving standardized healthcare. TomoDeep has seized this opportunity and contributed to China’s healthcare reform. Our hospital has had the privilege of trialing TomoDeep’s newly released product, which has alleviated physicians’ workload and improved diagnostic accuracy. We hope that TomoDeep’s products will become increasingly user-friendly and intelligent.

Yan Fuhua, Director of the Department of Radiology, Ruijin Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine:

AI has been a hot topic at this year’s CCR. It is crucial for AI products to be closely aligned with clinical practice and to provide genuine assistance to physicians. The several products recently launched by Tuma Shenwei all focus on high-incidence diseases and tumors.
