As the consistency evaluation of generic drugs continues to deepen, the research and development (R&D) of generics has entered a critical phase. Pharmaceutical companies are facing new challenges in project initiation, procurement of reference listed drugs (RLDs), pharmaceutical studies, and clinical trials. As the first step in launching the consistency evaluation, project initiation and the selection of reference listed drugs are of paramount importance.
To address the current challenges faced by enterprises in the consistency evaluation process, this approach targets the critical difficulties and pain points of generic drug consistency evaluation. Key areas include project initiation strategy, selection of reference listed drugs (RLDs), reverse engineering of RLDs, and formulation process optimization based on pre-bioequivalence (pre-BE) study results, thereby facilitating the efficient and high-quality completion of generic drug consistency evaluations for pharmaceutical companies.

Dr. Yan Zhongtian previously held positions at Beijing Wansheng Pharmaceutical, the Institute for Medicinal Excipients and Packaging Materials of the National Institutes for Food and Drug Control (NIFDC), and the Beijing Huizhicheng Center for Pharmaceutical Consistency Evaluation Technology. His responsibilities included formulation R&D, pilot-scale scale-up, testing and analysis of excipients and packaging materials, development of reference standards, pre-bioequivalence (BE) data analysis, and BE study design. He currently serves as Principal Investigator (PI) at Beijing Union Eye, Ear, Nose, and Throat Hospital.
