Pharmaceutical Network Corporate News] In the current situation where drug research and development efficiency is in urgent need of breakthrough, AI technology is becoming a core force. Among them, XtalPi innovatively builds "AI + quantum physics +
Robot"Technology closed-loop, reshaping the drug discovery process through a differentiated approach, not only significantly shortening the R&D cycle from 1-2 years to just months, but also accumulating high-precision proprietary data via the 'AI prediction - robotic validation' closed-loop model. This opens up new possibilities for drug development in challenging fields such as oncology and neurodegenerative diseases, driving transformative change in the global AI pharmaceuticals industry."
2025 will be a pivotal year for XtalPi to realize its technological capabilities, as its multi-billion-dollar pipeline licensing collaborations with several global pharmaceutical companies not only demonstrate the global competitiveness of its AI-driven drug discovery technology but also affirm the industry's high recognition of the "AI + pharmaceuticals" innovative model, advancing the commercialization of AI-powered drug development into a new phase.
In November, Ailux, the wholly-owned subsidiary of XtalPi and an innovator in AI-driven biologics R&D, reached a multi-target strategic collaboration and platform licensing agreement with Eli Lilly. The total value of the agreement can reach up to $345 million, including tens of millions of dollars in upfront payments and near-term milestone payments. Eli Lilly will leverage Ailux's proprietary platform to accelerate the discovery and development of bispecific antibodies (bispecifics) across multiple therapeutic areas, while utilizing its AI antibody R&D platform to expedite research within its internal pipeline. This marks the second collaboration between XtalPi and Eli Lilly, following their $250 million AI small molecule drug partnership signed in 2023.
In August, XtalPi reached a cooperation agreement with DoveTree, with a total cooperation amount of up to 5.99 billion US dollars (approximately 43.5 billion RMB), becoming one of the largest BD transactions in China's AI pharmaceuticals field in 2025 in terms of amount. According to reports, in this cooperation, DoveTree obtained the global exclusive development and commercialization rights for the cooperative products, while XtalPi is responsible for using its "AI + robotics" end-to-end platform to develop small molecule and antibody drugs targeting indications in the fields of oncology, autoimmune diseases, neurological disorders, and metabolic disorders.
In June, XtalPi announced the expansion of its strategic partnership with Pfizer to jointly develop a next-generation molecular simulation platform to drive drug discovery. This collaboration aims to further integrate the precision of advanced physical algorithms with the speed and scalability of cutting-edge AI models, thereby enhancing the efficiency, accuracy, and breadth of chemical space coverage of the molecular simulation platform, significantly accelerating the discovery and development process of small-molecule drugs.
In February, XtalPi signed a strategic cooperation agreement worth tens of millions of RMB with JW Pharmaceutical, a South Korean pharmaceutical company. According to the agreement, XtalPi will deploy a series of high-throughput automated synthesis workstations, AI reaction condition optimization systems, and intelligent analysis platforms for JW to meet its complex R&D needs in automated drug candidate molecule screening, synthesis, and process optimization. By leveraging Bayesian optimization, digital management, and automated laboratory technologies, this solution is expected to effectively improve the success rate and reproducibility of chemical synthesis, shorten the drug development cycle, reduce R&D costs, and enhance the efficiency of new drug discovery. With artificial intelligence technology relying on automated and standardized data processing capabilities, XtalPi's automated platform, as a new generation of infrastructure combined with years of technical accumulation and collaboration with JW Pharmaceutical, is expected to establish a successful case of AI-driven drug discovery.
Behind a series of collaborative achievements lies the solid support of XtalPi's technological closed loop. It is reported that through the deep integration of artificial intelligence technology and high-throughput experimental technology, XtalPi has focused on laying out R&D platforms for various next-generation drug forms such as bispecific antibodies, antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), and molecular glues, building diversified, large-scale, and future-oriented competitive advantages. In the future, XtalPi will accelerate the implementation of AI drug discovery collaborations based on its algorithm platform and R&D model, which have been validated by major pharmaceutical companies, continuously creating value for patients, customers, and investors.
