VCBeat (WeChat ID: vcbeat) has learned that on December 26, 2018, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Civil Affairs, and the National Health Commission jointly released the second batch of lists for smart health and elderly care demonstration entities. A total of 26 enterprises across China were selected for the list of demonstration enterprises; 48 subdistricts (townships) across China were included in the list of demonstration subdistricts (townships); and 10 bases across China were chosen for the list of demonstration bases.
The pilot demonstration initiatives for smart health and elderly care applications include the following three components: First, support the establishment of a cohort of demonstration enterprises, comprising companies capable of providing mature smart health and elderly care products, services, system platforms, or comprehensive solutions. Second, support the development of a group of demonstration sub-districts (townships), defined as those that deploy various categories of smart health and elderly care products and leverage information technology and intelligent technologies to deliver smart health and elderly care services to residents within their jurisdictions. Third, support the creation of a number of demonstration bases, referring to prefecture-level or county-level administrative regions that promote smart health and elderly care products and services, thereby fostering industrial agglomeration effects and serving as models for broader adoption.
As early as September 20 this year, three ministries and commissions, including the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) and the Ministry of Civil Affairs (MCA), jointly issued the “Notice on Launching the Second Batch of Pilot Demonstrations for Smart Health and Elderly Care Applications.” The notice stated that support would be provided to establish a group of demonstration enterprises, demonstration sub-districts/townships, and demonstration bases. Government departments at all levels and all sectors of society are encouraged to increase their support for these pilot demonstration initiatives, fostering the growth and expansion of demonstration enterprises through policy, funding, and resource allocation; supporting the development of demonstration sub-districts/townships; and accelerating industrial agglomeration and application pilots within demonstration bases.
