Recently, the “Care for the Liver” series of online free clinic activities, hosted by the Beijing Kangmeng Charity Foundation and undertaken by Medlinker Internet Hospital, was officially launched. The online free clinic campaign lasted for one month, comprising five sessions from December 27, 2018, to January 24, 2019. Each session began at 19:00 every Thursday, with two hours dedicated to live interactive consultations. Several hepatology experts from five cities, including Beijing, Chengdu, Tianjin, Wuhan, and Yinchuan, participated in online knowledge sharing and interacted with patients.

In the inaugural online free clinic event that just concluded, Professor Zhao Guiming from the Department of Hepatology at Tianjin Second People’s Hospital provided patients with online science popularization and explanations on “Prevention and Treatment of Modern Hepatitis.” Additionally, Professor Lv Hongmin from the Department of Gastroenterology at Tianjin Third Central Hospital shared insights with patients on the topic of “Jointly Combating Hepatitis B, Building a Green Home.”

During the two-hour event, nearly 20,000 patients participated in interactive consultations. The next online free clinic will be held at 19:00 on Thursday, January 3, 2019. At that time, liver disease specialists from Wuhan Union Hospital will engage with patients in interactive discussions on topics such as the prevention and treatment of liver diseases. Patients can follow the “Liver Health Wish” WeChat official account to access more information about the event.

This online free clinic initiative is another public-benefit measure launched by Medlinker, following its response to the new national policies on internet healthcare issued this September and its focused development of internet hospital services. A representative from Medlinker stated that the online free clinic breaks through regional barriers, enabling liver disease patients across China to access complimentary expert consultations via the internet.

The “Care for the Liver” series of free liver disease consultations will place greater emphasis on hepatitis B, aiming to support hepatitis B treatment efforts in China and enable more patients to receive care from specialist physicians. Meanwhile, Medlinker will continue to hold such free online consultation public welfare events on a regular basis, benefiting a larger number of patients with liver diseases. Leveraging its extensive physician resources—comprising 550,000 real-name verified doctors and 27,000 contracted physicians—as well as its advanced internet hospital diagnosis and treatment model, Medlinker will explore additional high-quality medical services to benefit patients.
