Health Decision, founded in 2004, is a clinical software development company based in Wisconsin, USA. Its software products are developed with the involvement of clinicians and have been integrated into the standard clinical workflows within EHR systems. Serving over 5.5 million physicians and patients, the company has achieved exceptionally high user satisfaction.
Health Decision’s software products include software tools for assessing cardiovascular risk, detecting atrial fibrillation, and screening for lung cancer and breast cancer. The cardiovascular risk assessment tool calculates a patient’s 10-year risk of developing cardiovascular disease based on the 2013 ACC/AHA guidelines, evaluates the impact of statins and smoking on cardiovascular disease, and presents the results in data format. The Atrial Fibrillation detection tool incorporates the ACC/AHA guideline recommendations on risk-specific anticoagulation therapy, calculates the HAS-BLED score to assess bleeding risks at 1, 5, and 10 years, and displays the impact of anticoagulants on these risks. The breast cancer screening tool uses the BCSC Risk Calculator to determine a patient’s 10-year probability of developing breast cancer, presents the results graphically, and reduces the likelihood of overdiagnosis and false positives.
