Baxter Acquires True Process to Advance Personalized Healthcare Through Predictive Analytics and Machine Learning

VCBeat (WeChat ID: vcbeat) has learned that Baxter recently announced its acquisition of the healthcare software company True Process. The transaction was completed on August 17 last year and was confirmed in recent days, although Baxter has not yet disclosed the purchase price in any public filings.

True Process, established in 2004, is a medical software company based in Wisconsin, USA, dedicated to providing high-quality healthcare services to a broad patient population. Vines, a software product under True Process, connects various medical devices within hospitals, aggregating device data onto its platform to comprehensively and clearly reflect patients’ health status. This facilitates physician diagnosis and enables the provision of personalized treatment and care plans for patients.

Todd Dunsirn, Founder and CEO of True Process, stated, “Currently, hospital devices operate in silos, with no platform capable of integrating all equipment. Vines addresses this challenge. Leveraging predictive analytics and machine learning technologies, the software outperforms competing solutions and meets the personalized needs of both physicians and patients.”

As early as 2018, True Process sold its consulting division to its California-based client, ICU Medical. This transaction enabled Vines, developed by True Process, to enter the market.

Todd Dunsirn stated, “After divesting our consulting division, we carefully considered the company’s future: whether to continue growing the business or actively seek a buyer. The acquisition by Baxter presented a perfect opportunity to expand our market reach and maximize the value of Vines.”

Following the acquisition, True Process founder Todd Dunsirn and partner Doug Frede left the company. However, Baxter retained most of the employees, who continued to provide remote services to its client, ICU Medical.

Baxter stated on its corporate website, “We acquired True Process because we share the same passion for innovative technologies that drive personalized care.”
