The round was led by Polaris Partners, with participation from Ignition Partners, Osage University Partners, and Mindset Ventures. With this funding, KenSci is poised to deepen its integration with health systems, helping them leverage predictive data capabilities to address challenges in healthcare resource utilization and hospital operations, while expanding its product roadmap and global business. This financing brings KenSci’s total capital raised to $30.5 million.
KenSci was incubated by the Data Science Center at UW Tacoma, University of Washington, and leveraged cloud technologies for product design with support from Microsoft’s Azure4Research grant program. The solution is applied in clinical workflows, cost management, and hospital operations. Its risk prediction platform is built on Azure ML and SQL, with insights delivered via Power BI. The risk prediction platform extracts data from diverse health sources—such as electronic medical records (EMRs), claims, billing, pharmacy, wearable devices, and psychosocial factors—to identify patterns that reduce costs and save lives. KenSci seamlessly integrates with health systems, helping care providers, financial officers, and actuaries manage patient costs and improve the overall quality of care within health systems.
