VCBeat (WeChat ID: vcbeat) has learned that medical device company Endo Tools Therapeutics recently secured €5 million (approximately $5.6 million) in Series C financing. The round was led by Epimède, with participation from existing investors FPIM-SFPI and Chagral Invest, as well as other individual investors.

Since its inception, Endo Tools Therapeutics has secured a total of three rounds of financing. In September 2013, the company raised €2.5 million in its Series B funding round.

It is understood that the funds raised in the Series C financing will be used to continue the research and development of Endo Tools Therapeutics’ medical devices and its triangulation platform, Endomina.

Endo Tools Therapeutics, a Belgian medical device company founded in 2008, is dedicated to developing innovative medical devices that provide gastroenterologists with new therapeutic options. The company has developed the Endomina triangulation platform, which adds therapeutic access and enhances physician dexterity in interventional gastroenterology by enabling independent movement from the endoscope.

Traditional endoscopes lock the therapeutic channel to the endoscope shaft, forcing gastroenterologists to operate with only one hand during procedures. Endomina enables a variable angle between two instruments, offering flexibility akin to the human arm. This allows physicians not only to operate with both hands but also to perform simple maneuvers, such as lifting tissue or tying knots, which were previously unattainable.

For patients, Endomina’s lower anesthesia requirements enhance intraoperative comfort, shorten postoperative hospital stays, and reduce healthcare costs. The platform has received EU CE certification and has been successfully utilized in over 230 surgical procedures. Currently, Endo Tools Therapeutics is developing a new version of Endomina to enable its use in more complex surgical environments.

Philippe Degeer, co-founder of Epimède, stated, “Endomina enables physicians to operate with both hands during procedures, freeing them from the constraints of single-handed operation. This represents a significant advancement in gastroenterology, and we are highly optimistic about the growth prospects of Endo Tools Therapeutics.”
