Global Premiere of Nobel Biocare™ Little Red Box

Holistic Digital Solution

The launch event was jointly presented by Professor Deng Feilong from the Affiliated Stomatological Hospital of Guanghua School of Stomatology, Sun Yat-sen University; Professor Zhou Guohui from Hong Kong Bainianmao Implant Center; Professor Lai Hongchang from Shanghai Ninth People’s Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine; Professor Huang Jiansheng from Guangzhou Lianzhihua Dental Clinic; Mr. Zhang Yihao, President of KaVo Group Asia Pacific; and Mr. Ma Yuzhong, Deputy General Manager of Nobel Biocare Business Unit.

It is reported that the product’s Chinese name is Nobel Biocare Little Red Box™. On one hand, the character “Red” reflects the prominent status of Nobel Biocare’s signature red color in the minds of dentists, while also aligning with Chinese customers’ affinity for the color red. On the other hand, the character “He” (meaning “union” or “harmony”) represents the new product line’s attributes of integration, timeliness, synergy, and collaboration. More importantly, for patients, “He” symbolizes the aspiration that “everyone enjoys a mouthful of healthy teeth.”

Nearly one billion teeth are missing among the Chinese population, yet only a small fraction of these individuals receive dental implant treatment. With the ongoing trends of population aging, the expansion of the middle class, and urbanization, Chinese people’s awareness of oral health care is steadily increasing. Their purchasing power and demand for high-quality patient experiences are also growing stronger, leading to an increasingly pronounced demand for personalized dental implant therapies.

The product was launched at an opportune time, allowing patients to view their personalized product portfolio. The application of the original NobelGuide® full-process surgical guide enables precise and minimally invasive experiences in implant surgery, while the immediate restorations produced after preoperative digital design allow patients toImmediate Postoperative Teeth,Instant Beauty, Instant Smile.

With the adoption of various interfaces within Nobel Biocare’s digital software platform (analogous to Apple’s iOS ecosystem), its cloud-based infrastructure connects clinicians, clinics, patients, and Nobel Biocare’s global manufacturing facilities. This integration enables seamless platform connectivity, spanning from efficient diagnosis via NobelClinician® software and doctor-patient communication to pre-ordering NobelActive® implant sizes, producing temporary restorations, and fabricating final restorations through NobelProcera®.

This platform collaborates to facilitate seamless communication for clinicians and ensure controllable quality, particularly by reducing intraoperative and postoperative risks through these products, shortening chairside treatment time, and enabling doctors to complete clinical treatments “quickly,” “accurately,” and “simply.”

Zhang Yihao, President of KaVo Group Asia-Pacific, pointed out that the product focuses on clinical needs in China and truly starts from the perspective of Chinese patients, customizing a complete digital solution exclusively for them. This marks the first time in Nobel Biocare’s nearly 70-year history that an innovative product has been globally launched in China. “In China, For China” demonstrates the brand responsibility of an international company in its localization process.

Ma Yuzhong, Deputy General Manager of the Nobel Biocare Division, pointed out that with consumption upgrading, patients’ focus on dental implants has shifted. Previously, they were primarily concerned with implant stability and warranty coverage. Now, they prioritize immediate tooth restoration, personalized treatment plans, fully imported materials, minimally invasive surgical techniques, and the overall therapeutic experience throughout the implantation process. This is precisely the rationale behind the creation of Nobel Biocare’s Xiao Hong He™, designed to serve patients’ evolving needs.

Domestic and international dental implant experts who were unable to attend the event in person, including Tang Chunbo from Jiangsu Provincial Stomatological Hospital, Jin Chen from Malo Clinic, Ma Wei from the School of Stomatology, Air Force Medical University (formerly the Fourth Military Medical University), Cheng Zhipeng from Zhejiang Provincial Stomatological Hospital, He Gang from Shangshan Dental, Huang Yuanding from the Affiliated Stomatological Hospital of Chongqing Medical University, Zhou Yi from Wuhan University School of Stomatology, Zhou Hong from Henan Provincial Stomatological Hospital, Mo Anchun from West China School of Stomatology, Sichuan University, Li Xuesong from Jinsong Dental, and Li Shuai from Peking University School of Stomatology, contributed video messages congratulating the launch of Nobel Biocare’s Xiao Hong He™. They shared their perspectives on Nobel Biocare’s Xiao Hong He™, noting that it embodies digitalization, precision, immediacy, safety, and forward-thinking design, thereby meeting the clinical demands for the future development of dental implantology.

With the Nobel Biocare digital implant solution, patient data—including (CB)CT scans, intraoral scan data, and clinical photographs—can be captured during the initial visit. SmartFusion is then used to rapidly and effectively fuse the (CB)CT and intraoral scan data, providing an intuitive visualization of details.

Design and generate restoration-oriented digital surgical guides using NobelClinician® software, and utilize visual communication of the treatment plan to help build patient confidence. Furthermore, the original NobelGuide® surgical guide, used in conjunction with the original instrument kit, enables precise guided surgery. Personalized TempShell temporary crowns allow for immediate restoration at the time of surgery. In the later stages of treatment, the Nobel Biocare Red Box™ provides patients with final restorations imported directly from Nobel Biocare’s original manufacturing facilities.

Guests at the event spoke highly of the future prospects of Nobel Biocare’s Xiao Hong He™. The product line is categorized into three types—“single-tooth,” “multi-tooth,” and “edentulous jaw”—covering all clinical indications. It is believed that Nobel Biocare’s Xiao Hong He™ will help propel digital dentistry in the Chinese market into a new era.
