VCBeat (WeChat Official Account: vcbeat) learned from foreign media that healthcare company Perimeter Healthcare announced on March 1, 2019, the acquisition of Lake Pines Hospital, further expanding the reach of its high-quality medical services. Additionally, the company simultaneously acquired the St. Theresa Hospital building located within Lake Pines Hospital.

Lake Pines Hospital is renowned for providing high-quality, personalized care to adults with severe mental illness and behavioral disorders. With 36 beds and equipped with behavioral health medical devices, the hospital is an innovative behavioral health institution located in Kenner, Louisiana, United States.

Regarding the acquisition, Debbie Tullier, CEO of Lake Pines, stated, “Perimeter Healthcare is a leading healthcare organization whose medical vision aligns with ours. This acquisition of Lake Pines by Perimeter Healthcare represents a significant step forward in realizing our shared vision. We remain committed to providing personalized care to patients, which continues to be Lake Pines’ top priority.”

Rod Laughlin, CEO of Perimeter Healthcare, revealed that following the acquisition, Perimeter Healthcare will add 40 to 45 beds to Lake Pines within eight months and plans to enhance the hospital’s atmosphere and renovate its structural infrastructure. The newly renovated Lake Pines will be renamed “Perimeter Behavioral Hospital of New Orleans.”

In addition, Perimeter Behavioral Hospital will expand its services to cover pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients. Lisa Evans, Chief Operating Officer of Perimeter Healthcare, stated in a press release: “As we expand our service offerings, we remain committed to maintaining high standards of quality care. We aim to replicate the success of Perimeter Healthcare by establishing healthcare centers in New Orleans, thereby improving the lives of patients in more communities.”

Perimeter Healthcare, established in 2014, is a peripheral healthcare holding company based in Georgia, USA. The company provides a range of mental and behavioral health services, with specialized care facilities in every state. Perimeter Healthcare is committed to creating an integrated healthcare network to help psychiatric patients in hospitals and clinics receive better medical services.

Currently, the health services provided by Perimeter Healthcare include therapeutic residential care for patients with psychiatric disorders, psychiatric intervention programs for children, acute inpatient treatment programs for acute hospitalizations, specialized acute geriatric psychiatry care for the elderly, personalized treatment plans, and trauma care.

Perimeter Healthcare’s ability to offer a wide range of health services is partly attributable to its network of health service centers across multiple states. In Alabama, Perimeter Healthcare operates Beacon Behavioral Hospital, a facility specializing in the treatment of acute mental health conditions such as depression and anxiety in minors aged 6 to 17. In Missouri, it owns two psychiatric inpatient care centers: PineyRidge Behavioral and Springfield Behavioral Hospital. In Tennessee, it operates Oaks Behavioral Hospital, an acute psychiatric treatment center, and The Oaks Residential Treatment Center, a pediatric psychiatric treatment facility.

Perimeter Healthcare operates the largest number of treatment facilities in Arkansas, including two psychiatric treatment centers—Springfield Behavioral Hospital for boys and WoodRidge Residential Treatment Center for girls—as well as WoodRidge Behavioral Hospital, a pediatric depression treatment facility; Perimeter of the Ozarks, a trauma care institution; and WoodRidge Counseling Center, an emotional counseling agency.

It is reported that Perimeter Healthcare had previously acquired two pediatric care facilities: WoodRidge Behavioral Care in September 2016 and Beacon Children’s Hospital in June 2017. Currently, the healthcare company owns a total of 11 medical institutions, including Lake Pines.
