VCBeat (WeChat Official Account: vcbeat) has learned that Eisenhower Health, a top 100 medical center in the United States, recently announced it had raised over $100 million in funding. This new capital will be used to upgrade a range of medical facility systems, including patient monitoring systems and simulation laboratories, thereby enhancing the quality of healthcare services.
Eisenhower Health is one of the top 100 medical centers in the United States. Founded in 1971 and headquartered in California, it operates not only as a healthcare service provider but also houses a graduate medical education institute dedicated to training specialist physicians in family medicine and internal medicine.
Eisenhower Health launched the “Eisenhower Campaign” in 2017, aiming to raise $200 million to realize its vision of delivering “world-class healthcare services.”
To enhance patient experience, strengthen diagnostic capabilities, and advance the education and training of healthcare professionals, the funds raised will be used to upgrade the patient monitoring system and the simulation laboratory. The new patient monitoring system will efficiently collect data and provide timely alerts to healthcare staff, enabling comprehensive monitoring of patient conditions. The new simulation laboratory will create more realistic scenarios, offering improved training opportunities for residents and nurses.
From its establishment until 1990, Eisenhower Health had performed more than 3,000 cardiac surgeries, earning worldwide acclaim in the fields of heart disease treatment and joint replacement. The additional funds raised will also be invested in the following areas:
Orthopedics and General Surgery: To meet patient needs and attract top talent, Eisenhower Health will expand its Orthopedic Center with two new buildings. The existing two operating rooms in this area have been upgraded, and six new operating rooms have been constructed.
Cardiology Department: The Heart Disease Research Center will allocate funds to renovate the cardiac catheterization laboratory and the electrophysiology laboratory, with each facility equipped with the latest 3D-guided imaging systems. The raised funds will also be used to purchase a hybrid vascular/cardiac surgical suite valued at $7 million.
Oncology Research Center: With the support of new funding, the medical center has put the TrueBeam linear accelerator into service. This accelerator can deliver the maximum and most precise radiation dose while minimizing the impact on surrounding skin tissue.
Outpatient Services: Eisenhower Health has numerous outpatient departments, including primary care offices, laboratories, and urgent care centers. The new funding will be used to increase the number of primary care physicians and Mohs surgery clinics, as well as to add 10 new treatment rooms. Meanwhile, services provided by the urology and wound care clinics will also be upgraded.
“Eisenhower Health President and CEO G. Aubrey Serfling said in a statement, ‘We are deeply grateful for the support from all sectors of society for Eisenhower Health. Charitable donations have been integral to Eisenhower Health’s entire history and continue to shape our future development. We will leverage these funds to provide patients with the best possible care, introduce cutting-edge technologies, and attract top-tier talent.’”
