On March 8, 2019, Haoyaoshi Online Pharmacy, the e-commerce platform under Jointown Pharmaceutical Group, a leading domestic pharmaceutical distribution enterprise, invited more than 300 key supplier partners and channel cooperation representatives to Beijing for the “New Momentum, New Opportunities: Haoyaoshi Internet Strategy Upgrade Launch Event.” In collaboration with several well-known medical and health service platforms, it established the Prescription Circulation Ecosystem Alliance, fully ushering in a new era of omni-channel pharmaceutical marketing.

In his opening remarks, Mr. Jiang Zhitao, Chairman of Health 998 E-commerce Group and General Manager of its B2C Business Unit, stated that the pharmaceutical industry ushered in significant opportunities and challenges in the remarkable year of 2018, driven by the implementation of the “Two-Invoice System” and the “4+7” volume-based procurement program, with favorable industry trends. As a pioneer in pharmaceutical e-commerce, Haoyaoshi has honed its capabilities over ten years, building a highly mature and excellent team, accumulating a user base of tens of millions, connecting with nearly one hundred e-commerce channels, and developing its own multi-functional proprietary platform. Widely trusted by users, Haoyaoshi is fully prepared to embrace new opportunities and work hand in hand with all stakeholders to write a new chapter in “Internet Plus” pharmaceutical healthcare.

At the conference, Mr. Niu Zhengqian, Vice President of the China Pharmaceutical Enterprise Management Association, provided a comprehensive interpretation of the latest policies in the pharmaceutical industry. Mr. Liu Jingliang, Deputy General Manager of Omron Healthcare (China) Co., Ltd., representing award-winning suppliers, outlined performance expectations for Haoyaoshi and made commitments to provide support on behalf of supplier partners. During the salon session, members of the ecosystem alliance and invited guests shared their perspectives on pharmaceutical marketing and prescription circulation, explored implementation strategies, expressed recognition of Haoyaoshi’s strategic upgrade, and demonstrated a strong willingness to deepen cooperation with Haoyaoshi.

At the conference, Mr. Li Xiang, Executive Deputy General Manager of Haoyaoshi, announced the “Official Establishment of the Haoyaoshi Prescription Circulation Ecosystem Alliance.” He explained that in recent years, the national government has implemented multiple rounds of policy liberalization for pharmaceutical e-commerce. Measures such as medical insurance cost containment, zero markup on drug sales, and controls on the proportion of drug expenditures have also incentivized hospitals to release prescriptions for fulfillment by retail pharmacies. In light of current policies and real-world scenarios of prescription circulation, Haoyaoshi has developed two integrated solutions combining asset-light and asset-heavy models, specifically tailored for medical institutions, physicians, and patients. The establishment of this ecosystem alliance, jointly launched by Haoyaoshi with Ping An Medical Insurance Technology, Donghua Medical Information, Detianle, Tao Dafu, the China Pharmaceutical Information Query Platform, and Jointown Health Management Platform, marks the entry of domestic prescription circulation into a model of comprehensive collaborative development.

Mr. Chen Gaoliang, COO of Haoyaoshi, pointed out in the report on the company’s omni-channel marketing strategic planning that the focus of this initiative is “prioritizing the productization of services and fostering open collaboration for mutual development.” Leveraging high-value assets—including an extensive portfolio of SKUs, over one hundred blockbuster products with sales reaching millions or tens of millions, nearly 100 production channels, close to 1,000 chain pharmacies, more than 3,000 partnered county-level stores, and a user base exceeding ten million—Haoyaoshi will join forces with over one hundred strategic partners to share data across the entire supply chain. Haoyaoshi will provide brands with customized omni-channel marketing services, integrating online and offline promotions as well as digital and physical network strategies to achieve win-win outcomes.

In his closing remarks, Mr. Liu Yichang, President of Jointown Pharmaceutical Group and General Manager of the Procurement Division, stated that all branches of the Group are deeply grateful to and fully confident in their partners. He affirmed that Jointown and its subsidiary, Haoyaoshi, will spare no effort to continuously provide a platform for mutual growth and win-win development, promote resource sharing, and jointly create a brighter future for the pharmaceutical industry.

During China’s “Two Sessions,” healthcare and pharmaceuticals emerged as high-profile topics, drawing significant attention. Key proposals included incorporating more life-saving and emergency medications into the national medical insurance scheme, establishing a national drug traceability system, and improving electronic medical record management to explore smart healthcare applications. Given that the healthcare system is a complex, multi-stakeholder ecosystem shaped by both policy and market forces, Haoyaoshi’s recent resource integration aligns with the national push for consolidating mobile health and pharmaceutical e-commerce. This move has, to some extent, facilitated the refinement and upgrading of technology and policies, setting a precedent for future innovative pharmaceutical care services. Forward-looking initiatives—such as facilitating prescription circulation, enhancing omni-channel marketing, and developing intelligent systems—demonstrate Haoyaoshi’s social responsibility and its leadership role in driving industry advancement.
