Baxter Receives FDA Approval for Ready-to-Use Eptifibatide in Flexible Container for Acute Coronary Syndrome Treatment

According to Baxter, this is the first and only premixed eptifibatide product presented in a flexible container, designed to help pharmacists improve efficiency and enhance patient safety. The drug has currently entered the U.S. market.

Eptifibatide is a platelet aggregation inhibitor that prevents platelet adhesion and clotting. This drug is indicated for the medical management of acute coronary syndrome (ACS), including emergencies such as myocardial infarction and other conditions involving sudden cessation of cardiac blood supply. Additionally, this drug can be used in patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).
