Cancer Treatment Services Solution Provider

VCBeat (WeChat Official Account: vcbeat) learned from foreign media that OncoLens, an Atlanta-based cancer care technology company, has recently completed a $1.35 million seed funding round. The proceeds from this round will be primarily used to scale up the company’s operations, enabling OncoLens to integrate its software into more healthcare systems and cancer centers across China.
It is reported that this round of financing was co-led by BIP Capital and Atlanta Technology Angels (hereinafter referred to as “ATA”). In addition, OncoLens has expanded its board of directors, with Sarath Degala, Vice President of BIP Capital, and Bill Midgette, a board member of ATA, joining the OncoLens board.
OncoLens was founded by CEO Anju Mathew, CTO McKesson, and Chief Medical Officer Lijo Simpson, a practicing hematologist and oncologist. The platform developed by OncoLens enables diverse, multidisciplinary cancer care teams to collaborate seamlessly in formulating treatment plans for individual patients. Amid the proliferation of diagnostic tests and therapeutic options, OncoLens ensures that every patient with complex cancer benefits from discussions among a panel of diverse specialists. The company also provides specific cancer decision support and assists cancer programs in tracking, discussing, and implementing nationally approved quality metrics.
The OncoLens platform is specifically designed to assist tumor boards and expert panels in evaluating cases and determining treatment plans for cancer patients within health systems. Typically, the case materials discussed in each meeting are not centralized, requiring physicians to spend hours preparing the cases for discussion and compiling all relevant study results.
The OncoLens platform streamlines the entire search process by establishing dedicated sections for different cases. When physicians need to locate case studies and research findings relevant to a specific conference, they simply input the case background and detailed information into the templates provided by OncoLens. The platform then extracts the patient’s complete medical history from their electronic health records (EHR). It aggregates clinical histories, all clinical diagnoses, potentially relevant clinical trial data, the latest research associated with the case, and national key performance indicators. By the time the expert panel convenes to discuss the case, a comprehensive array of research and treatment options is already available at their fingertips. Once the expert panel determines the treatment plan, the platform issues specific instructions to each member of the care team.
Anju Mathew, CEO and Co-Founder of OncoLens, stated, “I am delighted to welcome Bill Midgette and Sarath Degala to our Board of Directors. Their extensive experience in the healthcare industry will help us better serve our customers and expand our product portfolio.”
