Online Healthcare Platform Provider
VCBeat (WeChat Official Account: vcbeat) learned from foreign media that on April 1, local time in Vietnam, health tech startup JIO Health completed a $5 million Series A financing round. The funds will be used to expand JIO Health’s medical service platform and add new service categories, including eye care and dermatology treatment.
It is reported that this round of financing was led by Monk's Hill Ventures. In addition, JIO Health has expanded the size of its board of directors, with Lim Kuo-Yi, a partner at Monk's Hill Ventures, joining the JIO Health board.
JIO Health, established in 2014, primarily operates an online healthcare platform designed to provide users with remote consultation services, thereby reducing patients’ medical costs. JIO Health’s online healthcare offerings include telemedicine consultations, medical data collection, and home visit services by general practitioners in Vietnam. Its service portfolio spans pediatrics, primary care, chronic disease management, and supportive services, and will soon expand to cover ophthalmology, dermatology, and oncology.
JIO Health not only helps patients optimize treatment processes for chronic diseases but also provides regular physical examinations to promptly identify other health issues. After paying the subscription fee via cash, credit card, or health insurance benefits, users can log in to JIO Health’s service platform to either select home-visit doctor services or receive 24/7 remote medical consultations through video chats on the JIO Health platform. The one-on-one service model offered by JIO Health alleviates patient embarrassment concerning privacy during consultations and reduces offline waiting times. Furthermore, JIO Health offers diverse services for families with children, including regular monitoring of child development, vaccination counseling, comprehensive nutritional advice, allergy prevention guidelines, as well as asthma prevention recommendations and corresponding treatment plans.
Raghu Rai, Co-founder and CEO of JIO Health, stated, “We look forward to collaborating with the Monk's Hill Ventures team to expand JIO Health’s service offerings, thereby meeting the demand for high-quality medical services among the population in Vietnam.”
Lim Kuo-Yi, Partner at Monk’s Hill Ventures, stated, “Jio Health is committed to delivering trustworthy healthcare services. We are delighted to collaborate with the Jio Health team to build a more comprehensive healthcare service platform.”
