VCBeat (WeChat Official Account: vcbeat) learned from foreign media that on April 16 (local time), Canadian healthtech company Oncall Health completed a $1.5 million seed funding round. The proceeds will be used to expand the company’s telehealth service coverage in North America and optimize users’ video consultation experience.

It is reported that this round of financing was led by Ripple Ventures, with participation from Panache Ventures, Stout Street Capital, and others.

Oncall Health was founded in 2016 to provide a direct video consultation and telemedicine platform for patients and medical teams using remote healthcare technology. Oncall Health not only delivers high-quality medical services to patients but also helps healthcare practitioners expand their service scope and improve diagnostic and treatment efficiency.

In collaboration with over 300 healthcare institutions across North America, Oncall Health provides services including medical assistance, mental health consultations, and substance abuse control and treatment. Currently, the Oncall Health platform receives more than 10,000 video consultation appointments per month.

When using the Oncall Health platform, patients need only register an account to log in to their personal information management portal, schedule video consultations, and view their health reports. Physicians publish medical information, such as medication guidelines, through the platform. After downloading the diagnosis report, patients can purchase the prescribed products on their own. Oncall Health signs confidentiality agreements with users and safeguards patient privacy.

“Patients hope to connect with doctors through a more convenient platform,” said Nicholas Chepesiuk, CEO and founder of OnCall Health. “Most healthcare providers are unable to deliver high-quality services to patients due to information security concerns and inadequate technology on existing platforms. We aim to build a secure information platform that not only connects patients with doctors but also provides users with a better experience. We believe that virtual care technology will become widespread globally in the near future.”
