VCBeat (WeChat Official Account: vcbeat) has learned that on April 17 local time, Kindbody, a company headquartered in New York, USA, announced the completion of a $15 million Series A financing round. The round was co-led by RRE Ventures and Perceptive Advisors, with participation from Green D Ventures, Trail Mix Ventures, Winklevoss Capital, and others. The funds will be used to establish Kindbody’s physical clinics in Manhattan and San Francisco.

Since its inception, Kindbody has raised a total of $22 million in funding. Prior to this round, the company secured $7 million in 2018.

Kindbody is a healthcare company dedicated to women’s health. Founded in 2018, it was co-established by Gina Bartasi, founder of Progyny, and FertilityAuthority. Gina Bartasi brings 20 years of experience in the digital health industry; prior to launching Kindbody, she led Progyny, a digital health company that provides fertility benefits to corporate employees. FertilityAuthority is an online platform offering information and community support for individuals facing fertility challenges.

Kindbody currently primarily provides women with fertility assessments, egg freezing, and in vitro fertilization (IVF) services, with plans to expand into mental health, nutritional health, and gynecological medical services. Kindbody has established numerous mobile clinics where women can undergo anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) testing to assess their ovarian health. Based on the test results, physicians then recommend that women visit brick-and-mortar clinics for a comprehensive fertility evaluation.

“Mobile clinics are very popular and have attracted a large number of clients to brick-and-mortar clinics,” said Gina Bartasi. As a result, Kindbody plans to launch its “Fertility Bus” this spring, where clients can undergo comprehensive fertility assessments, including AMH testing, pelvic ultrasound, and in-depth consultations with fertility specialists.

“What is a reasonable profit margin for IVF medical services today?” said Gina Bartasi. “Historical data show that profits have been very high due to elevated retail prices. But can such high-priced medical services be sustained in the long term? If you charge $22,000 for IVF services, how long can this industry remain viable? We keep our pricing for IVF services at a reasonable profit level. We aim to make fertility treatment affordable and accessible to all who need it, regardless of race or socioeconomic status.”
