Developer of Tumor Bispecific Antibodies

VCBeat (WeChat ID: biobeat1) has learned that on April 24, EpimAb Biotherapeutics announced that the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) had granted its U.S. Patent No. 10,266,608, titled “Tandem Fabs Immunoglobulins and Uses Thereof.” As EpimAb’s first patent application filed globally, the granted claims broadly cover and protect bispecific antibodies generated using the FIT-Ig® technology.
“This patent underscores the novelty of EpimAb Biotherapeutics’ bispecific antibodies and serves as the cornerstone for our subsequent patent portfolio,” said Dr. Chenbing Wu, Founder and CEO of EpimAb Biotherapeutics. “Securing patent approval for our key platform technology in major global pharmaceutical markets such as the United States marks a significant milestone in EpimAb’s development, taking us a solid step closer to our goal of becoming a leading innovator dedicated to oncology biopharmaceuticals.”
EpimAb Biotherapeutics is developing innovative products for the treatment of various cancers based on its FIT-Ig® platform technology. Its most advanced bispecific antibody candidate, EMB-01, which targets both c-MET and EGFR with a synergistic mechanism of action, has been rapidly advanced into clinical development and is currently undergoing Phase I/II clinical trials in the United States and China.
The second drug developed on the FIT-Ig® platform is currently undergoing preclinical studies. As more internally originated products are developed, EpimAb Biotherapeutics will enter a new phase of rapid growth in its bispecific antibody drug pipeline.
About EpimAb Biotherapeutics, Inc.
EpimAb Biotherapeutics is an innovative, international biotechnology company with R&D centers and pilot-scale production bases in Shanghai and Suzhou, respectively. It focuses on the research and development of innovative biologics leveraging its proprietary FIT-Ig® bispecific antibody technology platform.
The FIT-Ig® technology platform utilizes molecular biology techniques to fuse two monoclonal antibody sequences into a bispecific antibody with a unique structure. It is the world’s only bispecific antibody technology that requires neither amino acid mutations nor the inclusion of linker peptides or any non-antibody sequences, thereby offering high druggability and industrialization efficiency.
Leveraging its proprietary FIT-Ig® platform technology, EpimAb Biotherapeutics is developing a pipeline of original bispecific antibody products targeting tumor immunology and other areas with high unmet clinical needs. Meanwhile, EpimAb is advancing the strategic development of its platform and diversifying its product portfolio through global technology licensing, collaborative development, and other strategic partnerships.
