Address by Academician Wang Longde, President of the Chinese Preventive Medicine Association
The theme of this conference is “Vaccines and Health in the New Era: Development and Challenges.” This is the first national academic conference in China themed around “Vaccines and Health.”
Academician Wang Longde stated that over the past 70 years since the founding of the People’s Republic of China, China’s health sector has consistently adhered to the principle of prioritizing prevention. Governments at all levels have continuously increased investment in and strengthened the management of immunization programs, while professional technical institutions and healthcare professionals nationwide have continually improved service quality. These efforts have enabled China’s immunization work to achieve globally remarkable accomplishments, significantly reducing the incidence, disability, and mortality associated with vaccine-preventable infectious diseases, effectively safeguarding the health and lives of Chinese children, and making substantial contributions to the country’s economic and social development.
At the conference, Academician Wang Longde also specifically pointed out that the Chinese Preventive Medicine Association has made full use of the “Listen to the Experts” WeChat official account to conduct online training. More than 80,000 primary-level vaccination physicians have gathered on the “Listen to the Experts” platform, where the cumulative number of Q&A sessions listened to has reached 720,000, and the cumulative number of views has reached 2.73 million.

Listen to the Experts: As the technical support provider for this conference, we conducted a live online broadcast of the grand proceedings of the National Vaccine and Health Conference, offering grassroots vaccination physicians an opportunity to engage closely with the event.
Staff introduced “Listen to the Experts” to the attending physicians.
On the day of the conference, nearly 40,000 vaccination physicians watched the live broadcast online, and nearly 3,000 participated in online discussions. The live streaming interface offered features such as real-time comments and limited-time playback, catering to the diverse needs of grassroots vaccination physicians. By breaking through geographical and temporal constraints, the platform provided them with ample opportunities for self-expression, thereby enhancing their initiative and enthusiasm in participating in the conference. Academic exchange outcomes and learning materials from the conference will be compiled and shared on “Listen to Experts,” facilitating online learning of vaccination knowledge and skills, as well as broadening horizons for more grassroots vaccination physicians.
