Guangzhou Women and Children’s Medical Center Promotional Video Introduces Jianke’s Undertaking of the E-Prescription Process, Achieving a Patient-Centered Approach to Medical Care

It is understood that the Guangzhou Women and Children’s Medical Center is the largest Grade A tertiary medical and healthcare institution for women and children in South China. It boasts numerous national-level key specialties, with annual outpatient visits exceeding 4 million at peak times and approximately 12,000 outpatient visits per day during non-peak hours.

As one of the first specialized internet hospitals for women and children in Guangdong Province, the Internet Hospital of Guangzhou Women and Children’s Medical Center relies on its physical hospital infrastructure. By integrating advanced technologies such as cloud computing, big data, the Internet of Things (IoT), mobile 5G, and artificial intelligence, it consolidates high-quality obstetric, gynecologic, and pediatric medical resources from domestic and international hospitals. In collaboration with primary and secondary healthcare institutions and pharmaceutical enterprises, the platform enables patients to complete the entire online medical process—from appointment scheduling and online consultations to result review, electronic prescriptions, medication delivery, and health education—without leaving home.

At the conference, the center also demonstrated a case of a pediatric patient with nephrotic syndrome undergoing a follow-up consultation via its internet hospital, drawing significant attention from attendees. The presentation provided a detailed overview of how Jianke manages electronic prescription acceptance and the out-of-hospital circulation of prescription medications within online diagnosis and treatment services. This approach not only facilitates medication access and medical care for patients but also further implements the national policy of “separating prescribing from dispensing,” truly prioritizing patient-centered healthcare.

It is reported that patients who schedule appointments at Guangzhou Women and Children’s Medical Center can, after receiving an electronic prescription from their physician, use the system to purchase related medical products—including prescription drugs—from the Jianke online pharmacy. Upon payment, they can avail themselves of Jianke’s home delivery service, enabling residents to access medical consultation and medication services without leaving their homes.

Jianke Drives Strategic Upgrade, “Medical + Pharmaceutical” Dual-Wheel Drive Takes “Making Everyone Healthier” as Its Mission

Today, Jianke Online Pharmacy has accumulated over 100 million customers, with a total of 680,000 online SKUs. It has been listed among the Top 100 Enterprises in the China Pharmacy Value Ranking for five consecutive years, ranking 27th in the “2018–2019 China Pharmacy Value Ranking Top 100 Enterprises.” In 2009, Jianke obtained the Class C Certificate for Internet Drug Transaction Services issued by the National Medical Products Administration (formerly the State Food and Drug Administration), becoming the first licensed online pharmacy enterprise in Guangdong Province and the fifth in China.

Benefiting from the state’s vigorous promotion of the integrated development of “Internet + Healthcare” in recent years, Jianke, which has been cultivating the pharmaceutical industry for over a decade, has now entered a phase of rapid growth. Among pharmaceutical e-commerce companies, only two have secured USD-denominated financing, with Jianke being one of them; in 2018, Jianke completed its Series B financing round amounting to $130 million.

Bolstered by strong capital support and favorable policies, Jianke is vigorously advancing its strategic upgrade, transitioning from a single-engine “pharmaceutical e-commerce” model to a dual-engine “medical care + pharmaceuticals” model built upon the foundation of “Internet + Healthcare,” with the aim of establishing China’s most trusted smart health service platform.

This move has also garnered significant attention within the industry, with renowned pharmaceutical companies both domestic and international, including Pfizer, entering into deep strategic collaborations with Jianke. Today, Jianke continues to lead and promote the healthy development of the industry, taking “making everyone healthier” as its mission, which aligns with the fundamental principles of national policy.
