VCBeat (WeChat ID: vcbeat) has learned that AMN Healthcare (NYSE: AMN), a healthcare workforce solutions company, recently announced it had entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Advanced Medical for $200 million. Based on Advanced Medical’s 2019 financial performance, AMN Healthcare may also pay up to an additional $20 million.


This acquisition is intended to help AMN Healthcare achieve tax benefits. Upon completion of the acquisition, the company's earnings per share are expected to increase, bringing its net present value to $8 million. The acquisition is expected to be completed in June 2019.

The company is dedicated to placing therapists and nurses in suitable positions across various settings, including hospitals, schools, clinics, nursing facilities, and home health agencies. It has earned a strong reputation in the industry for its ability to provide healthcare professionals to critical clinical specialties facing severe staffing shortages.


Recently, Advanced Medical launched a telehealth platform through which health therapists can remotely provide services to children in large school districts. The company’s current annual profit is approximately $140 million.
