Developer of Virtual Reality Technology for Psychology

An investment institution focused on innovative early-stage companies
Recently, VCBeat (WeChat Official Account: vcbeat) learned that Psious, a behavioral health technology company based in Barcelona, Spain, has announced the completion of an €8 million financing round. The round was led by Sabadell Asabys Partners, Caixa CapitalMicro II and Caixa Capital Tic II, both managed by Caixa Capital Risc, with participation from Banc Sabadell and Carlos Gallardo. Previously, Psious had completed two rounds of financing.
Psious, founded in 2013, is an emerging behavioral health technology company. Its flagship product, PsiousToolsuite, is a virtual reality platform dedicated to mental health treatment, enabling users to quickly access Psious’s online platform via their smartphones and VR headsets. The platform expands the application scenarios of VR therapy to include the treatment of anxiety disorders (such as phobias, panic disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder), stress management, depression, and attention-related issues (including ADHD, autism, and other psychiatric disorders). Psious plans to use this funding to continue developing and enhancing its online platform.
Psious’s online platform provides mental health professionals with clinically ready animated and real-time environments. The platform offers more than 50 virtual reality video resources that can be used to treat anxiety disorders and phobias, as well as to practice mindfulness and relaxation techniques. A key feature of the platform is that therapists can view in real time what patients see in VR and access real-time monitoring data. Additionally, therapists can adjust the simulated environments viewed by patients through the platform’s “Variable Settings” and “Control Panel” to meet each patient’s therapeutic needs. After each session, the platform automatically generates a report and saves detailed information from the treatment process in the patient’s file.
Xavier Palomer, CEO of Psious, stated, “This round of funding is a testament to the work Psious has carried out since its inception.” He added, “During this period, the company has been dedicated to implementing innovative virtual reality-based technological solutions for the treatment of mental health disorders.”
