VCBeat (WeChat Official Account: vcbeat) has learned that on May 24, U.S. local time, Livekick, an online fitness software company, announced the completion of a $3 million seed funding round. The round was led by Firstime Venture Capital, with participation from Frontier Venture Capital and Rhodium.
Livekick, founded in January 2018 and headquartered in New York, provides users with one-on-one online fitness and yoga training sessions via live streaming.
Livekick provides individual consumers with a platform for training anytime, anywhere. Users can connect in real time with remote trainers through Livekick’s iOS app or website, and trainers will customize personalized workout plans based on the user’s schedule, location, and fitness goals. Currently, Livekick’s services include bodyweight exercises, strength training, high-intensity interval training (HIIT), combined functional mobility workouts, and yoga.
Livekick operates on a membership model, offering users three monthly subscription plans: Rise, Elite, and Warrior. The Rise plan provides one 30-minute session per week at $32 per week and includes a two-week free trial. The Elite plan offers two 30-minute sessions per week at $57 per week. The Warrior plan includes three 30-minute sessions per week at $80 per week.
Meanwhile, Livekick also provides trainers with a new way to find clients. For offline trainers, the period from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM is typically devoid of client bookings. Through Livekick, trainers can offer services to users in other time zones during this gap, thereby filling their schedules and generating additional income.
Every trainer at Livekick holds at least one certification from a top industry organization. These organizations include the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), the American Council on Exercise (ACE), and the International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA). Yoga instructors must also be certified by Yoga Alliance, a nonprofit entity that tracks Registered Yoga Teachers (RYT) and Registered Yoga Schools (RYS).
Livekick was founded by entrepreneur Yarden Tadmor and fitness expert Shayna Schmidt. Tadmor stated that this personalized training approach not only caters to each user’s needs but also more effectively boosts their motivation to exercise. Shayna Schmidt noted that real-time interaction ensures users perform exercises correctly and safely.
Nir Tarlovsky of Firstime Venture Capital stated in a press release, “With its cutting-edge technology, Livekick makes exercise more accessible and affordable. We believe Livekick has the potential to improve the health of millions.”
On May 23, Future, an online fitness app company similar to Livekick, also announced the completion of its $8.5 million Series A financing round. The round was led by Kleiner Perkins, with participation from Khosla Ventures, Caffeinated Capital, Founders Fund, Abstract Ventures, and Mike Krieger.
