Grinding Teeth Diagnosis and Treatment Wearable Device Developer

A Venture Capital Fund for Hardware Manufacturing Entrepreneurs
Recently, VCBeat (WeChat Official Account: vcbeat) learned that Bravrr, a Seattle, Washington-based startup specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of bruxism, has completed a $280,000 seed funding round. This round was supported by HAX Accelerator, an early-stage investor in hardware devices. Following the investment, HAX Accelerator will leverage its comprehensive supply chain system in Shenzhen and its business promotion resources in San Francisco to help Bravrr achieve mass production and market expansion.
Bravrr’s product, BruxRelief, is a smart biofeedback wearable device designed to detect and treat nocturnal bruxism. According to Bravrr’s internal reports, nocturnal bruxism affects the sleep of one-third of the global population; however, most individuals are unaware that they suffer from this condition. Among these patients, only 10% receive a confirmed diagnosis of nocturnal bruxism from dentists. BruxRelief assists dentists in rapidly diagnosing whether patients have nocturnal bruxism and, when used in conjunction with dental splints, helps patients manage and treat the condition.
Currently, Bravrr’s R&D team is simultaneously applying for product patents for BruxRelief in both China and the United States. Furthermore, Bravrr has launched a mobile application designed to complement the BruxRelief device. Users can wear BruxRelief to transmit data online to the mobile app, enabling physicians to analyze the relevant data and establish diagnostic conclusions. Additionally, users can manage nocturnal bruxism by wearing BruxRelief in conjunction with other prescription treatments prescribed by their physicians, while monitoring the entire treatment process through the mobile application.
As part of this financing round, Bravrr is required to complete a two-stage incubation program provided by the HAX Accelerator. First, Bravrr will spend four to eight months in Shenzhen collaborating with HAX Accelerator’s technical team to advance product development. Subsequently, Bravrr will spend two to three months in San Francisco working with HAX Accelerator’s fundraising and marketing teams to formulate a business plan, expand into markets, and drive business growth.
Brock Predovich, founder of Bravrr, stated, “Innovations in biosensors and the widespread adoption of smartphone technology have paved the way for a new generation of personal health management solutions. Bravrr aims to develop smart wearable devices that enable healthcare professionals to make timely disease diagnoses for patients and assist them in treatment.”
Brock Predovich stated that Bravrr’s product development plan in Shenzhen will focus on improving the BruxRelief product model, accelerating technological iterations behind the product, and further enhancing the user experience.
In 2018, Bravrr has been operating within FEDC TechSTART, a U.S.-based startup incubator. Brad Rowland, Program Director of FEDC TechSTART, stated, “We are delighted that Bravrr has chosen to establish its headquarters in our park. Bravrr has now built an international team that will leverage global resources in a coordinated manner to achieve rapid corporate growth and high-speed technological iteration.”
