VCBeat (WeChat Official Account: vcbeat) learned from foreign media that on May 29, U.S. local time, healthcare company Welkin Health completed a $17.5 million Series B financing round. The funds from this round will be used to support the company’s expansion of its healthcare business and to provide patients with new models of medical services.

It is reported that this round of financing was led by Altos Ventures, with participation from Thrive Capital, Red Swan Ventures, and Asset Management Ventures. In addition, Welkin Health has expanded its board of directors, with Ram Gupta from Altos Ventures joining the Welkin Health board.

Welkin Health, founded in 2013 and headquartered in California, USA, is a healthcare company dedicated to providing remote care services to patients and facilitating their scientific rehabilitation.

Welkin Health, Inc.’s patient care platform has transformed the traditional healthcare model. Patients no longer need to frequently visit medical facilities to consult on their care plans; instead, they can simply create a personal account on the platform and upload their medical information. The medical team then provides immediate online diagnoses and continuously monitors patients’ health status to adjust care plans as needed.

Welkin Health’s platform features a robust information protection system, ensuring that patients’ diagnostic data is safeguarded against malicious theft. Notably, the platform adopts a patient-centric service model, granting patients the authority to initiate and terminate diagnostic services. The medical team is obligated to ensure that patients receive optimal care and effective treatment; otherwise, patients retain the right to continue the current consultation and evaluate the performance of the medical team.

Chase Hensel, CEO and Co-founder of Welkin Health, stated, “Over the past two years, we have continuously updated the engagement model between enterprises and customers. We look forward to collaborating with our new investors. This funding will support us in updating our business model, optimizing the customer experience, and expanding our enterprise market scale.”

“He Xiaonan, Managing Director at Altos Ventures, stated, ‘Welkin Health introduces a new service concept to the industry and offers an improved model of patient care. We are very much looking forward to collaborating with them.’”
