VCBeat (WeChat Official Account: vcbeat) learned from foreign media that on May 29, U.S. local time, healthcare company Pillo Health completed an $11 million Series A financing round. The funds raised in this round will be used to support the company’s development of a home care system.
It is reported that this round of financing was led by Stanley Ventures, with participation from Samsung Ventures, BioAdvance, and Hikma Ventures.
Pillo Health, founded in 2015 and headquartered in Massachusetts, USA, is a healthcare solutions provider dedicated to delivering enhanced medical services to the home setting.
Home care is not limited to patients with severe illnesses; even minor allergies require scientifically guided medication. Most individuals do not seek treatment at professional medical institutions for “minor ailments,” opting instead to purchase prescription or adjunctive medications directly from pharmacies. However, this practice may predispose them to chronic diseases. Such medications are non-addictive and fail to address the underlying pathology specifically. Over time, the accumulation of these drugs in the body, combined with inadequately treated conditions, can lead to serious chronic diseases. This not only compromises individual health but also wastes medical resources and increases the financial burden on families.
This phenomenon is more pronounced among the elderly population. Pillo Health has launched home care service products tailored to this demographic. These products not only assist seniors in taking medications scientifically but also leverage a comprehensive pharmaceutical distribution channel to help them purchase authentic drugs. The system helps the elderly manage their health scientifically, reduces medical costs, and prevents various chronic disease symptoms caused by medication errors.
Larry Harper, Vice President of Stanley Ventures, stated, “Partnering with Pillo Health is a significant milestone in our company’s development. We have long focused on the home care industry for the elderly; however, due to family dispersion and limited mobility among seniors, healthcare delivery costs tend to be high, resulting in this sector not receiving the attention it deserves. We hope that our collaboration with Pillo Health will transform the current landscape of this industry and create greater shareholder value for us.”
Emanuele Musini, Co-founder and CEO of Pillo Health, stated, “We believe home care is critically important, yet it is often overlooked by many. We will leverage the proceeds from this financing round to address the challenges patients face with home care in the healthcare industry and further expand our business operations.”
