Developer of Smart Thermometer Patches and Applications
VCBeat (WeChat Official Account: vcbeat) has learned that iWEECARE, a medical technology company from Taiwan, China, recently completed a $1 million seed funding round. The proceeds from this round will be used to develop smart temperature monitors.
It is reported that this round of financing was led by Verge HealthTech Fund, with participation from Translink Capital and Darwin Venture.
iWEECARE, founded in 2014 and headquartered in Taiwan, is dedicated to providing customers with convenient medical services. Its flagship product is Temp Pal®.
Temp Pal® is a wireless temperature monitor featuring real-time monitoring and intelligent alerts. It employs a diagnostic model distinct from the digital pen and in-ear thermometers currently available on the medical market, with its market share projected to reach $1.5 billion by 2025.
This product is only the size of a postage stamp and consists of a high-performance temperature sensor, a thin battery that can provide power for 2-3 days, and a Bluetooth radio. The entire body temperature monitor weighs 3 grams, with an accuracy as low as 0.05°C (0.9°F), and has been tested to be allowed for clinical-grade body temperature measurement.
Customers can carry Temp Pal® with them and monitor their health status in real time. Temp Pal® transmits human health data to a secure cloud platform via a mobile application, which automatically generates real-time charts based on user needs to inform them of their health condition. In the event of serious health issues, the application will issue an alert to the user, advising them to seek diagnosis at a professional medical institution.
Such devices can also be used in medical institutions, where physicians can analyze patients’ health status using real-time data generated by the devices, or scientifically manage patient health through comprehensive monitoring data provided by multiple devices.
Glen Tseng, CEO of iWEECARE, stated, “We are deeply grateful for the support from our new round of investors. Real-time temperature monitoring is crucial for infants, patients, and couples preparing for pregnancy. Traditional thermometers rely on manual measurements, a method that is not only prone to variability but also prevents individuals from scientifically analyzing their own temperature data to determine whether professional medical care is needed. Our company aims to address these issues through a user-friendly and comfortable service model, helping customers manage their health in a scientific manner.”
