As public awareness of health continues to grow and population aging intensifies, health management has not only become a key daily need but also a vital platform for disease prevention and improving overall health. On June 18, the Xiaokang Home Health Management Center, jointly established by Sichuan Provincial People’s Hospital and New Hope Group, officially commenced operations, committed to providing the public with personalized, high-quality health management services across the entire life cycle.

According to VCBeat (WeChat ID: vcbeat), this smart healthcare project has invited Alibaba Cloud and KPMG to provide intellectual support, with a focus on customer experience, to help Sichuan Provincial People’s Hospital and New Hope Group jointly build China’s first top-tier intelligent health examination center. This hospital intelligence initiative showcases KPMG’s latest achievements in the smart healthcare sector. By integrating Alibaba Cloud’s IoT platform, KPMG and Alibaba Cloud have jointly built an efficient and convenient medical service platform.

Intelligent End-to-End Health Checkup Process: Customized Health Examination Services

This smart healthcare initiative has transformed Xiaokang Home Health Management Center into China’s first end-to-end intelligent, premium medical examination center built on Alibaba Cloud IoT. The flagship store in the Southwest region is set to become a benchmark for the intelligent medical examination industry. The project truly achieves full-process intelligence in health screenings by integrating end-user services with hospital smart hardware devices, thereby enabling customized examination services. It provides consumers with a seamless, comprehensive experience that covers online appointment scheduling, examination guidelines, and facility navigation before the visit; intelligent triage, route planning, and interactive features during the examination; and post-examination health data analysis, risk assessment, and management.

In this collaboration, KPMG and Alibaba Cloud worked closely together in four key areas: intelligent business scenario design, solution architecture design, project management and supervision, and software development and delivery. KPMG was primarily responsible for providing consulting services such as business requirements analysis, project management, and user experience testing, while Alibaba Cloud provided the technical platform, including IaaS and PaaS, leveraging the power of vendors within its ecosystem to deliver integrated online and offline information solutions for clients. Together, both parties promoted the concept and service model of proactive health management, setting a benchmark for the smart physical examination industry.

Liu Yiming, Global Business Lead Partner and Management Consulting Partner at KPMG Alibaba, stated, “Currently, numerous medical institutions and tech giants are actively deploying smart healthcare solutions to empower the healthcare industry. KPMG China has been committed to providing long-term support for our clients’ development, assisting them in addressing challenges arising from industry transformations. Through this collaboration with Alibaba Cloud, KPMG aims to explore the applications of Internet of Things (IoT) and artificial intelligence (AI) in the healthcare sector, delivering innovative operational models that keep pace with the times for healthcare services.”

Full-Lifecycle Health Management Solutions

Driven by industry, policy, and technological forces, the development of smart healthcare is an inevitable direction for the medical sector to address the challenges of healthcare reform and meet public healthcare demands. Shen Tao, General Manager of Alibaba Cloud Intelligence’s Global Ecosystem Business Division, stated, “By integrating KPMG’s professional consulting solutions in the healthcare industry with Alibaba Cloud’s technologies and products, we have created a joint solution for full-lifecycle health management tailored for next-generation healthcare informatization. This delivers greater value to customers and reflects Alibaba Cloud’s strategy of serving more clients through being integrated into ecosystems and building partnerships, thereby providing tangible convenience to a broader population.”

Leveraging its extensive industry experience, incisive insights, and comprehensive technical support, KPMG has successfully secured a leading market position in delivering relevant services, meeting the specific needs of policymakers, service providers, and users in the healthcare sector. Yao Feng’e, Partner and Head of Healthcare at KPMG China, stated, “In recent years, advancements in technologies such as artificial intelligence and big data have given rise to many new business models in the health management industry. Among these, health check-ups represent the most mature segment of the health management services market and enjoy the highest customer acceptance. Regardless of market complexity, the core objective remains addressing consumers’ actual needs. Currently, the Chinese market does not lack health management companies; rather, it lacks enterprises capable of effectively addressing patients’ needs. Going forward, the path forward for health management services lies in adopting a patient-centric approach and establishing a closed-loop health management system.”

Amid the industry trend toward the informatization of healthcare services, intelligent construction is an inevitable path for the future development of healthcare and a key factor in maintaining core competitiveness within the medical industry. How to leverage new business models and innovative technologies to unlock the potential of the health industry, improve service efficiency, and expand service coverage—relying on technological means such as medical big data and smart healthcare—so that more people can enjoy the health safeguards brought by technology, is currently being continuously explored by various sectors.
