VCBeat (WeChat ID: vcbeat) learned from foreign media that on June 24, Allergan, a global giant in medical aesthetics consumables, announced that its CoolTone device had received FDA approval for improving abdominal muscles, enhancing muscle tone, and creating a firmer abdomen. CoolTone can also be used for muscle strengthening in the buttocks and thighs.
CoolTone is the latest addition to Allergan’s body contouring portfolio. Utilizing Magnetic Muscle Stimulation (MMS) technology, it delivers magnetic energy deep into the muscle layers to induce involuntary muscle contractions. These contractions strengthen muscle fibers, thereby enhancing muscle tone. Whether targeting the abdomen, buttocks, or thighs, CoolTone strengthens the muscles in the treated areas, helping clients achieve a more defined and toned physique.
It is worth noting that CoolTone should not be applied to the head or cardiac region, and active pharmaceutical ingredients must not be applied to the metal panels of the device that come into contact with the skin. Caution is advised when using CoolTone in patients with bleeding disorders or epilepsy, as well as in women during menstruation. The most commonly reported adverse reactions associated with this device include transient muscle spasms, transient joint or tendon pain, local erythema, and skin redness.
“As a global leader in the field of medical aesthetics, Allergan is dedicated to developing non-surgical cosmetic solutions that are continuously innovative, safe, and effective,” said Brad Hauser, Vice President of R&D for Body Contouring at Allergan. “We achieve this by developing differentiated technologies to meet patients’ aesthetic needs.”
Furthermore, Allergan has long collaborated with Marina Plastic Surgery, a plastic surgery clinic in Los Angeles, California. Regarding the recent approval of its new product, Grant Stevens, founder of the clinic, stated, “Through our partnership with Allergan, we can offer our patients innovative aesthetic solutions for body contouring. CoolSculpting is the non-surgical fat-reduction technology we use most frequently in clinical practice, and now we can also recommend CoolTone muscle toning to help enhance firmness in the abdomen, buttocks, and thighs.”
Currently, Allergan has begun accepting pre-orders for CoolTone and plans to commence shipments in the early fourth quarter of 2019.
