Private Equity Firm Focused on Technology
Recently, VCBeat (WeChat ID: vcbeat) learned from foreign media reports that Vyne, a leader in healthcare information technology, has announced its acquisition by the private equity firm The Jordan Company. Specific financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Following the acquisition, Vyne, with the support of The Jordan Company, will further expand its technology platform to provide an information services platform for thousands of dental clinics, hospitals, and major health systems across the United States.
In September 2013, Accel-KKR acquired EA Holdings, the predecessor of Vyne. Since then, Vyne has achieved five consecutive years of revenue growth and executed a strategic acquisition to expand its product portfolio.
Vyne is an industry leader in secure health information exchange and healthcare electronic communications management. The company’s robust technology platform enables the extraction, storage, and upload of digital healthcare data via voice, documents, images, data files, fax, or connected electronic interfaces, thereby delivering intelligent services to healthcare organizations. Vyne converts non-integrated paper-based data into electronic formats, enhancing patient records to improve operational efficiency for healthcare providers, facilitate continuous patient care, and optimize the overall patient experience.
Vyne has two subsidiaries: Vyne Medical and NEA.
Vyne Medical serves more than 600 hospitals and other healthcare providers in the United States, dedicated to helping them improve operational efficiency. The company integrates disparate data sources into a single, secure, consolidated repository to comprehensively document medical data and enable rapid search of patient health information. Unstructured data within health systems is often excluded from electronic health records (EHRs), resulting in incomplete patient health profiles. Vyne Medical provides a secure method for managing and sharing this data, thereby facilitating continuous and comprehensive information exchange throughout the care continuum.
Vyne Medical also facilitates information exchange between healthcare providers and health insurance companies. Its certified Health Information Handler (HIH) provides gateway services for healthcare systems, enabling the submission of relevant medical claim documents to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). Vyne Medical’s FastAttach solution effectively manages medical claim information by submitting medical documentation electronically (esMD). Using esMD for claims helps healthcare organizations improve operational efficiency, avoiding improper reimbursements and additional costs associated with medical document submission.
NEA is committed to serving more than 72,000 dental practices across the United States. By partnering with leading industry software companies, it provides a comprehensive network for electronic claims and health information exchange to over 750 dental insurance carriers, helping them manage dental claims and improve cash flow efficiency for both dental practices and insurers.
The Jordan Company (TJC), founded in 1982, is a middle-market private equity firm headquartered in New York, with an additional office in Chicago. Since 1987, the firm has managed over $11 billion in capital. It brings 37 years of investment experience across industries including industrials, transportation, logistics, healthcare and consumer, and telecommunications.
