According to the Zhongtong Finance APP, China Biologic Products (01177) rose over 4% in early trading. As of the time of writing, it had increased by 3.04%, trading at HK$7.12, with a turnover of HK$134 million.

On the news front, China Biologic Products Holdings announced in a public notice that it would acquire Heliya Bio, an siRNA innovative drug company in China, for a total price of 1.2 billion yuan. This is another key move by China Biologic Products Holdings in the small nucleic acid sector following its investment in SANEGENEBIO.

The company noted that Hejiya is a pioneering biopharmaceutical enterprise focused on the research and development of innovative small interfering RNA (siRNA) drugs. It has established an integrated innovative drug development system ranging from target discovery to clinical proof-of-concept (POC). The company primarily focuses on three major chronic disease areas: weight management and metabolism, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, and the nervous system.
