Male Diseases Are the Third Biggest Health “Killer,” Yet Few Seek Formal Medical Care
Extensive social surveys and medical statistics, both domestic and international, indicate that an increasing number of diseases are rapidly affecting men, posing a continuous and serious threat to their physical and mental health. For instance, conditions such as prostatitis (with an incidence rate exceeding 20–40% among men aged 20–50), sexual dysfunction, benign prostatic hyperplasia, hypertension, diabetes, chronic fatigue syndrome, obesity syndrome, hair loss, and baldness are becoming increasingly prevalent. Andrological disorders have emerged as the third leading "killer" of male health, following cancer and cardiovascular/cerebrovascular diseases; however, this growing threat to men's well-being has not yet received adequate attention.
Xie Fangmin, CEO of Jianke, stated that due to concerns about "saving face," only 33% of individuals suffering from andrological conditions choose to seek diagnosis and treatment at formal medical institutions. Less than half of the population believes these conditions are not serious enough to require treatment, or they self-diagnose using online resources and purchase medications directly from pharmacies. "Online information is often inaccurate and lacks authority. As one of China's leading smart health service platforms, Jianke has a responsibility to step forward, assume greater social responsibility, and address various livelihood issues in current healthcare services." Xie Fangmin emphasized that Jianke Internet Hospital has attracted a cohort of authoritative medical experts for online consultations, providing relatively more scientific and standardized information. This enables the platform to genuinely help more patients resolve substantive health issues. This mission underpins the establishment of the Male Health Management Center at Jianke Internet Hospital, which aims to leverage Jianke’s robust internet medical technology and resource advantages to heighten attention to male health. By introducing professional health management teams and hosting renowned specialists, the Male Health Management Service Center of Jianke Internet Hospital assists patients in managing complex or specific health conditions, safeguards patient privacy, and fosters a high-quality new lifestyle focused on health.
The Center Has Onboarded 100 Physicians and Will Expand Collaboration with Primary Care Hospitals
Professor Mo Suilin, who has been appointed as Senior Advisor to the Men’s Health Management Service Center of Jianke Internet Hospital, specializes in men’s health management through the integration of traditional Chinese and Western medicine. He is expert in the prevention and treatment of andrological conditions using an integrated approach, including prostate diseases, infertility, and sexual dysfunction. Professor Mo’s addition will significantly enhance the medical and managerial quality of the Men’s Health Management Center.
Professor Mo Suilin stated that the time and space available for clinical consultations in hospitals are very limited, resulting in a relatively small reach of patients. Notably, many patients who seek consultations only register at large hospitals after multiple referrals when their conditions have become severe, while some patients may not even know the appropriate channels to seek medical diagnosis. “If we doctors collaborate with internet healthcare platforms like Jianke, we can push the line of defense forward and advance preventive monitoring, which may reduce the number of individuals troubled by male health issues,” Professor Mo said. He explained that this was the original intention behind cooperating with Jianke. During discussions, he found that their philosophies were highly aligned. Their joint efforts aim not only at the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of andrological diseases but also at providing doctor-patient education for the healthy population, conveying correct concepts of male health management, and helping patients manage data throughout the entire lifecycle of their medical care. He believes that Jianke’s chronic disease management services and online follow-up consultation model are industry-leading. Through the operation of the Male Health Management Service Center, passive medical services—where patients seek help only after their conditions worsen—can be transformed into comprehensive, proactive services, including online follow-ups, health guidance, and standardized treatment, thereby improving the quality of male health management.
According to reports, the center has onboarded 100 renowned experts and established a chronic disease customer service and physician team of over 100 members. By maximizing platform and resource advantages, it provides more comprehensive and professional “one-stop” and “full-lifecycle” men’s health management solutions for the current millions of male customers with chronic diseases, as well as for the broader male population across China. In addition, the Jianke Men’s Health Management Service Center will collaborate with community hospitals nationwide to deliver corresponding primary care services, thereby benefiting more primary-care patients in third- and fourth-tier cities.
Jianke Internet Hospital’s Frequent Moves Draw Attention and Yield Significant Results
With over a decade of deep engagement in the internet healthcare industry, Jianke leverages its extensive industry expertise and digital advantages to serve more than 20 million patients with chronic diseases. Committed to building a future-oriented, one-stop online platform for “Internet + Healthcare” services, Jianke is actively integrating online and offline resources to accelerate the deployment of chronic disease management programs. By employing intelligent methods such as data collection and electronic health record establishment, the company delivers a comprehensive suite of services to facilitate the ongoing diagnosis, treatment, and management of chronic conditions. Shortly after its launch, the Jianke Doctor Platform attracted 100,000 registered physicians providing online consultations, with daily inquiries exceeding 300,000. This has enabled intelligent medical care, allowing patients to access convenient, professional healthcare services from the comfort of their homes through Jianke.
As one of China’s leading smart health service platforms, Jianke has been actively exploring better solutions for chronic disease management. Since the beginning of this year, Jianke has continued to strengthen its efforts in pharmaceutical e-commerce, mobile healthcare, internet hospitals, and chronic disease management. Notably, in May this year, Jianke jointly established a specialized Internet Hospital Center for Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) with Ferring Pharmaceuticals, a renowned international pharmaceutical company. Professor Wu Xiaoping, Professor of Gastroenterology at the Second Xiangya Hospital of Central South University and Deputy Leader of the IBD Specialist Group under the Chinese Society of Gastroenterology, serves as the Director of Jianke’s Internet Hospital IBD Specialty Center. In the future, Jianke will develop more personalized chronic disease management systems tailored to the needs of different patient groups, facilitating a shift from disease treatment to health promotion for the general public.
