Healthcare Service Company
On July 24, 2019, VCBeat (WeChat ID: vcbeat) learned that MENTOR Network announced the acquisition of Just Family (JFI), an adult health services (ADH) company. Upon completion of this transaction, MENTOR Network’s ADH business will expand into Kentucky.
JFI was founded in 2008 and is headquartered in Lexington, Kentucky. It provides care services and home nursing services to approximately 800 Kentucky residents through nine Adult Day Health (ADH) centers. Featuring both health center-based and home-centered care models, JFI fully considers client needs and offers a range of daytime services for older adults, including personal care, medication management, and nutritional and caregiving support.
During home care, JFI provides patients with breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snacks, and arranges monthly activities such as outings and bingo games. Furthermore, JFI’s care model encourages patients to maintain their independence by performing tasks within their capabilities; on-site caregivers provide direct assistance only when patients are unable to complete certain activities on their own.
The Mentor Network is a leading U.S. provider of home and community-based care services, offering a comprehensive range of high-quality services to adults and children with physical disabilities, including intellectual disabilities, developmental disabilities, and brain and spinal cord injuries. Established over 30 years ago, The Mentor Network began in 1980 with in-home care services. Thanks to its reliable and attentive care, the company’s diverse care network now spans the entire United States.
Through acquisitions, mergers, and partnerships with strategic allies who share its values, MENTOR not only expands the geographic reach of its services but also brings new talent and care expertise to the organization, thereby enabling it to provide care services to more individuals and families.
“We entered the ADH market in 2014 and have gradually built a platform that can carry our mission,” said Bruce Nardella, President and CEO of MENTOR Network. “Since then, we have made significant progress in establishing our ADH business and have become a leading provider of ADH services.”
“JFI’s core caregiving business has left a very deep impression on us, and we are particularly interested in its continuously evolving care model. Their model can provide cost-effective home care services for the elderly.” Nardella added, “This aligns with MENTOR’s pursuit over the past 30-plus years. JFI’s attentive services fully respect the independence and dignity of older adults, effectively avoiding many issues associated with institutional care. We warmly welcome JFI’s management team and caregivers to join our organization.”
It is understood that following its acquisition of JFI, MENTOR will operate 37 nursing centers across five states—Kentucky, Massachusetts, Maryland, New Hampshire, and New Jersey—providing care services to approximately 5,300 elderly individuals.
