From July 27 to 28, 2019, the Central China Summit of the Chinese Academic Symposium on Otorhinolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery was held in Wuhan. Twenty top domestic experts in otorhinolaryngology-head and neck surgery and 500 specialists in the field attended the event to jointly discuss new achievements, advances, and trends in otorhinolaryngology-head and neck surgery.

Hosted by the Head and Neck Oncology Professional Committee of the China Association for Pharmaceutical Education, the Head and Neck Oncology Professional Committee of the Hubei Anti-Cancer Association, and Renmin Hospital of Wuhan University; organized by Minsheng ENT Medical Group and Wuhan Minsheng Eye, Ear, Nose, and Throat Specialist Hospital.

At the high-level forum, 20 experts and professors, including Huang Zhengming, President of the Chinese Medical Education Association; Gao Zhiqiang, Director of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at Peking Union Medical College Hospital and former Chairman of the Otorhinolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery Branch of the Chinese Medical Association; Sun Jianjun, Chief Expert of the PLA Otorhinolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery Center at Navy General Hospital; Gong Shusheng, Director of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at Beijing Friendship Hospital, Capital Medical University; Jiang Xuejun, Director of the Teaching and Research Section of Otorhinolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at the First Hospital of China Medical University; Hua Qingquan, Director of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at Renmin Hospital of Wuhan University; and Zhang Tianyu, Director of the Department of Otologic and Plastic Surgery and Deputy Dean of the Institute of Otorhinolaryngology at Eye & ENT Hospital of Fudan University, shared the latest scientific achievements and advances in clinical diagnosis and treatment. They also discussed key issues such as strengthening discipline construction in otorhinolaryngology–head and neck surgery and standardizing therapeutic practices, focusing on various special topics and hot issues.

As a key segment of this forum, the Minsheng Hospital Management Institute was officially unveiled, marking the formal establishment of China’s first management organization dedicated to private specialized hospitals in otolaryngology and ophthalmology, thereby creating a platform for exchanging experience in socialized medical practice and hospital management.

The forum also established a sub-venue for the School of Management. Zhang Binyun, Deputy Director of the Fudan University Institute of Hospital Management, and Dong Mifang, CEO of Minsheng ENT Group, presented lecturer appointment certificates to several outstanding presidents of private hospitals. Presidents from nearly 100 private hospitals across China attended the School of Management conference, where in-depth exchanges and discussions were held on topics such as “socially operated healthcare, hospital management, multi-site practice, and mobile health.”
