Every woman experiences menopause for 4 to 10 years, spending an average of $20,000 on trial-and-error approaches involving prescriptions, medical visits, treatments, devices, and products. Founded in 2010 by former Microsoft executive Jill Angelo, Gennev is the first telehealth clinic dedicated to women’s menopause care, where patients can schedule video consultations with specialized menopause practitioners.

Gennev currently offers this service in 23 U.S. states, with appointments costing $65 for consultations with medical doctors (MDs) and $45 for 15-minute consultations with nurse practitioners. The company does not currently accept insurance; however, prescriptions covered by the patient’s insurance plan will be eligible and handled by the patient’s chosen pharmacy.

In addition, Gennev curates products designed to alleviate hormone-driven symptoms such as hot flashes, insomnia, anxiety, and loss of libido. The company also offers menopause health services, including menopause assessments created by obstetrician-gynecologists, as well as free access to blogs, podcasts, and videos featuring physician-led insights on menopause symptoms and treatments. As a cloud-based health gateway and community, Gennev boasts a network of women and practitioners who share their experiences with menopause. Gennev plans to use its seed funding round to expand its user base and geographic footprint across all 50 U.S. states.
