On January 15, the latest round of the "3+N" Alliance's bulk procurement of medical consumables in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region announced the selection results, involving two types of consumables: medical films and hemostatic materials. This initiative is expected to drive down the overall price of consumables and reduce patients' medical expenses.

This medical film centralized procurement has selected 95 enterprises, including well-known domestic and international companies such as Agfa, Fujifilm, Konica Minolta, and Carestream Health. The products involved include laser films and thermal films, with a total of 2,466 specifications selected. This procurement adopts a combination of volume linkage, negotiation, and two-way selection, achieving cost optimization through volume-for-price exchanges.

Hemostatic Material Centralized Procurement Includes More Than 10 Types of Products Such as Hemostatic Gauze, Collagen Sponges, and Bone Wax, with a Total of 126 Specifications Selected. The Selected Companies Include Major Domestic and International Producers Such as Weihai Shichuang, Medtronic, Johnson & Johnson, and Stryker. The Multi-Product Group Bidding Mechanism Encourages Companies to Participate in Supply at More Reasonable Prices, Ensuring Clinical Usage Needs.

Medical film is a key consumable in medical imaging examinations, with an annual usage of approximately 650 million sheets in China, representing a market size close to 6 billion yuan. Although the price of a single sheet of film is not high, the total usage is enormous, making it an important component of medical institutions' operating costs. Hemostatic materials are widely used in surgical operations and trauma treatment, and their prices directly affect the cost of surgery and patient expenses. This centralized procurement will drive the prices of these two types of consumables back to a reasonable range, and patients' medical expenses are expected to decrease further in the future.

The "3+N" Alliance of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei is a cross-regional procurement alliance led by Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei, with the participation of multiple provinces. It reduces the prices of medical consumables through joint volume-based procurement. Previously, the alliance had conducted several rounds of centralized procurement for medical consumables, covering varieties such as artificial crystals, coronary stents, and orthopedic trauma products, achieving positive results in reducing prices, ensuring supply, and regulating the market. In the future, the alliance will continue to expand the scope of volume-based procurement for medical consumables, helping to effectively utilize medical insurance funds.
