On August 31, the “Safeguarding Maternal and Infant Health – Xiaodoumiao Expert Team National Public Welfare Lecture Tour (Chongqing Stop)” was successfully held at the Grand Mercure Chongqing Guomao Hotel. The event specially invited Dr. Jiang Peiru, Chief Physician at the Public Health Clinical Center of Fudan University, to deliver a lecture and engage in professional sharing and discussions on maternal and infant health knowledge. More than 600 families attended the lecture. Ample time was allocated for Q&A interactions, providing targeted health education to address specific concerns related to maternal and infant care, which received unanimous acclaim from parents.

Breast milk is not only the optimal food for infants, providing the energy and nutrients essential for their growth and development, but also lays the foundation for the development of their immune systems and metabolism. However, survey data indicate that the exclusive breastfeeding rate among Chinese infants within the first six months of life is merely 29%, significantly lower than the global average of 43%. Even with a proper understanding of the benefits of breastfeeding, some parents are unable to achieve exclusive breastfeeding due to various reasons, and the challenges they face warrant attention. Furthermore, the postpartum period is when women are psychologically most vulnerable and physically weakest; their physical and mental health require greater societal attention and support. Focusing on topics such as breastfeeding and infant health, as well as postpartum recovery, Dr. Jiang Peiru delivered a vivid and accessible presentation, sharing professional and practical clinical experience and health knowledge with the attending parents, who responded with sustained applause.

Xiang Xiaozhou, Brand Director of Xiao Dou Miao, stated that the national public welfare lecture tour by Xiao Dou Miao’s expert team stems from the brand’s original commitment to maternal and child health. In addition to providing users with more convenient and accessible vaccination services, the initiative aims to alleviate parenting anxiety among young parents, promote scientific childcare practices, and support the healthy growth of more children.

The Xiaodoumiao Expert Team’s National Public Welfare Lecture Tour was launched in 2018. Held regularly in various cities across China, it has covered numerous first- and second-tier cities nationwide, becoming a signature content brand of Xiaodoumiao. By inviting renowned domestic experts in fields such as vaccination, maternal and infant health, and scientific parenting to share their insights on-site, the tour serves as a key vehicle for extending Xiaodoumiao App’s online knowledge services—including Mom’s Classroom, Ask a Doctor, and the Community Forum—into offline settings, thereby providing parents with more comprehensive knowledge support.
