Why Choose Israel?

Diversification is the cornerstone of Israel’s medical device and healthcare IT industries.

By the late 1990s, Israel already had more than 200 life sciences companies. With steady growth over the past decade—approximately 40 new companies established each year—Israel has infused creativity and innovative spirit into this field; it now boasts 1,500 active companies.

The largest sectors are the medical device and healthcare information technology industries, accounting for more than 65% of companies. In the medical device field, Israeli scientists and engineers have integrated advanced technologies into electronics, communications, and optoelectronics, thereby developing world-class innovative products in areas such as digital imaging, medical lasers, telemedicine, early diagnosis, and smart surgical equipment. More than 600 medical device exporters are engaged in various medical applications, including cardiovascular and peripheral vascular health, neurological and degenerative diseases, preventive and emergency medicine, intensive care, women’s health, orthopedics and sports medicine, gastroenterology, infection control, ophthalmology, pain and wound management, oral and dental care, dermatology, and aesthetics.

Israel’s digital health industry stems from a long history of using innovative communication technologies to improve healthcare delivery. With over 30 years of expertise in implementing health IT, electronic medical records, and big data analytics, Israel is now seeing its government continuously invest heavily in IT, leveraging the nation’s specialized knowledge to meet international demand.
