4th China-Arab States Expo 'Internet + Healthcare' Industry Exhibition and Application Conference Successfully Convened

September on the Frontier, Fragrance of Abundant Harvests. In this beautiful golden autumn season, the 4th China-Arab States Expo grandly opened in Ningxia, the picturesque “Jiangnan beyond the Great Wall,” on September 5.

This Expo has provided a valuable platform for both sides to deepen practical cooperation and advance high-quality development of the BRI.

Cao Jianming, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, attended the exhibition tour and the opening ceremony at the Yinchuan International Convention and Exhibition Center on behalf of the Chinese government. Boumedienne Hemede, First Vice President of the National Assembly of Mauritania, and Iro Sani, First Vice President of the National Assembly of Niger, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches respectively. Shi Taifeng, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region and Director of its Standing Committee of the People’s Congress, delivered a welcome address. The opening ceremony was presided over by Xian Hui, Deputy Secretary of the Regional Party Committee and Chairman of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.


On September 6, the “Internet + Healthcare” Application Conference, held concurrently with the 4th China-Arab States Expo, was successfully convened. Themed “Internet+ Leading Innovation and Prosperity in the Health and Medical Industry,” the conference focused on policies, technologies, and applications of “Internet + Healthcare,” covering areas such as telemedicine and artificial intelligence. By integrating smart solutions and pooling collective strength, the event aimed to promote development, exchange, and cooperation among China, Arab countries, and nations along the Belt and Road Initiative in the field of “Internet + Healthcare,” jointly creating a new landscape for the industry’s growth.

The conference was opened with remarks by Mao Qun’an, Director of the Department of Planning Development and Informatization under the National Health Commission, and Yang Peijun, Vice Chairman of the People’s Government of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. At the main forum, keynote speeches were delivered by Jin Xiaotao, President of the Chinese Society for Health Informatics and Medical Big Data; Ma Xiuzhen, Vice Chairman of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Regional Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and Director of the Ningxia Health Commission; Zhao Guoping, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences; Cai Xiujun, President of Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine; and Zhang Luxia, Assistant to the Dean of the Peking University Institute for Healthcare Big Data. The discussions centered on “Internet + Healthcare,” fostering mutual learning and looking toward the future.

Mao Qun’an, Director of the Department of Planning Development and Informatization under the National Health Commission, pointed out that efforts should continue to be made to vigorously promote publicity and implementation, gradually improve the support system, and effectively strengthen safety supervision. Ma Xiuzhen, Vice Chairperson of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and Director of the Regional Health Commission, called for building consensus, deepening cooperation, and advancing the integrated development of the internet and healthcare sectors. Academician Zhao Guoping of the Chinese Academy of Sciences provided an accessible yet insightful discussion on the Human Genome Project and recent research advances and breakthroughs in genomics in China.


At the conference, Chen Zhao, Senior Architect at CEC Data (a subsidiary of China Electronics Corporation), delivered a speech titled “Sharing Practices in Internet Healthcare and Big Data Engineering.” Dr. Chen elaborated on how CEC Data Services Co., Ltd. has implemented pilot projects for health and medical big data under China Electronics’ Modern Digital City planning framework, focusing on three key aspects: industry empowerment, platform development, and security management.


The conference also featured a thematic exhibition on the Ningxia “Internet + Healthcare” Demonstration Zone. CEC Data, a subsidiary of China Electronics Corporation (CEC), was invited to participate, showcasing national achievements in the application of health and medical big data to the public.


As the flagship exhibitor of China Electronics Corporation (CEC), CEC Data serves as a practical application of CEC’s Modern Digital City concept in the healthcare sector. The National Pilot Project for Health and Medical Big Data is dedicated to promoting the nationwide sharing of health and medical big data. By integrating healthcare data across China, the project aims to enhance national public health management capabilities and improve the public’s sense of gain in health and medical security.

Leveraging data sharing from the National Health and Medical Big Data Service Platform, and employing artificial intelligence and other technological means, it supports intelligent healthcare applications across multiple fields, including clinical decision support, life sciences, and multidisciplinary consultations. This initiative addresses the shortage of high-quality medical resources, enhances healthcare standards in underdeveloped regions, and achieves inclusive healthcare. It has become a national hub for the health and medical big data industry.
