Provider of Comprehensive Solutions for Medical Big Data
VCBeat (WeChat ID: vcbeat) has learned that during HUAWEI CONNECT 2019, Huawei and SYNYI·AI jointly released the SYNYI·AI Smart Hospital Solution based on Huawei’s Kunpeng processor. This marks the successful implementation of China’s first medical big data system built on Huawei’s Kunpeng processor. The certificate issued also represents Huawei’s first certification in the field of medical big data.

Huawei Technical Certification
Notably, this technical certification encompasses four key areas: TaiShan servers, big data, GaussDB database, and Huawei Cloud Stack. Leveraging the advanced nature of its technological architecture and the adaptability of its solutions, SYNYI·AI has secured the industry’s first “four-in-one” certification in the medical big data sector.

Huawei & SYNYI·AI Joint Smart Hospital Solution Launch
What Does Adopting Huawei’s Kunpeng Processor Technology Roadmap Mean?
In recent years, with the emergence of new medical entities such as internet hospitals and smart hospitals, the state has promulgated laws and regulations including the Cybersecurity Law and the Administrative Measures for the Standards, Security, and Services of National Health and Medical Big Data (Trial). These regulations explicitly emphasize the need to uphold data security, properly balance the relationship between application development and security assurance, highlight the enhancement of technical security support capabilities, and protect personal privacy and information security.
For hospitals, failing to control system data at the underlying architecture level inevitably leads to data security breaches.

Tang Guojun, General Manager of the Education and Healthcare Industry Division, Huawei Cloud & AI
In response, Tang Guojun, General Manager of Huawei’s Cloud & AI Division for the Education and Healthcare Sector, stated, “Huawei is highly optimistic about the development of ICT in the healthcare industry over the next 5–10 years, particularly in alignment with the national Healthy China strategy. Our joint solution with SYNYI·AI aims to address critical challenges in the healthcare sector, such as difficulty and high costs in accessing medical care, as well as data silos, by leveraging cutting-edge AI technologies, cloud computing, and big data. Currently, various industries in China, including manufacturing, finance, and healthcare, are undergoing digital transformation, which serves to enhance intelligence while maximizing data security.”
From underlying chips to operating systems and databases, the Kunpeng computing industry provides robust safeguards for data security, undoubtedly offering a comprehensive end-to-end solution. Furthermore, it delivers novel computing power options for diverse applications, such as big data and gene sequencing.
Why Conduct Testing? It is akin to demonstrating that Zhang San’s entire household relocation from Beijing to Shanghai not only proceeded without any acclimatization issues but also maintained the same high quality of life as in Beijing. The purpose of the joint testing is to verify the compatibility between Huawei’s Kunpeng processors and SYNYI·AI’s Smart Hospital Joint Solution, thereby confirming the successful execution of the aforementioned “inter-provincial relocation” plan.
However, deploying legacy healthcare systems originally adapted for x86 servers onto ARM-based servers requires the following steps.
First, both parties must establish the overall logical architecture of the platform. This is akin to Zhang San planning to buy a house in Shanghai: he must first determine the type of property, whether it is an apartment, duplex, split-level, or garden villa. To this end, SYNYI·AI’s Smart Hospital Solution adopts Huawei Cloud Stack, with Huawei HBase used for integrating business data.
Next, both parties need to establish the deployment of physical and logical networking, which can be understood as the piping and wiring in home renovation.
Finally, it is necessary to determine the hardware and software configurations, as well as the various adaptation components required during the migration process, such as operating systems, middleware, databases, and programming languages. This is analogous to the materials used in home renovation, such as tiles, flooring, and wall paint.
Furthermore, to avoid compatibility issues during the migration process, SYNYI·AI must first perform cross-compilation on local x86 machines and then conduct validation on the Kunpeng Cloud Service Platform; additionally, the library files on which the system depends must also undergo cross-compilation.
After one month of preliminary preparation for the solution and one week of compilation and migration, both parties successfully achieved the normal operation of the Smart Hospital Solution on Huawei Cloud services, with the entire software suite fully compatible with ARM servers.
In this test, Huawei, as the provider of software and hardware—including the big data platform, cloud management platform, servers, storage, network equipment, and cloud operating system—enabled the joint solution to achieve functional enhancements based on the Hadoop architecture.
SYNYI·AI served as the solution provider. The results showed that all 321 test cases passed, with zero failures, enabling the system to successfully complete the “migration” task!
Currently, Huawei is rapidly expanding its Kunpeng ecosystem, with alliances having been established in Beijing, Chongqing, Shanghai, and other regions. Leveraging its prominent position in the field of medical AI, SYNYI·AI has not only joined the Shanghai Kunpeng Ecosystem Alliance as one of the founding members but also partnered with Huawei to complete this symbolic product testing.
Shanghai Kunpeng Ecosystem Alliance Inauguration Ceremony
Regarding partners, Tang Guojun was generous with his praise: “SYNYI·AI is the first partner within Huawei’s healthcare ecosystem to achieve deep integration. We look forward to working hand in hand with SYNYI·AI to advance together across the entire healthcare industry in the future.”
Zhang Shaodian, CEO and Founder of SYNYI·AI
According to Zhang Shaodian, CEO and founder of SYNYI·AI, the scenario-based applications of SYNYI·AI’s smart hospital solution, built on Huawei Kunpeng processors, are equally promising for the future. This happens to be SYNYI·AI’s core strength.
In this regard, he stated: “Currently, SYNYI·AI’s product portfolio primarily includes an intelligent research platform, a next-generation hospital information platform, and multiple clinical decision support systems for specific diseases. Achieving Huawei’s ‘four-in-one’ certification for our products further validates the advanced nature of our technical architecture and the adaptability of our solutions. Of course, SYNYI·AI is not merely a company that showcases its technological prowess. We are more committed to joining hands with Huawei, leveraging the Kunpeng ecosystem, and effectively implementing our products in practice based on the current needs of smart hospital development and clinical departments.”
As the era of the Internet of Everything and ubiquitous intelligence accelerates, and the construction of smart hospitals gains momentum, the demand for medical data security has become increasingly critical. In this context, intelligent healthcare systems based on Huawei’s Kunpeng processors are poised to enter a golden age of development. SYNYI·AI will also follow this trend, partnering with Huawei to explore more application scenarios within this new ecosystem.
