Proxima Capital’s Phase II RMB Venture Capital Fund Achieves First Close, Adding Multiple Medical Technology Innovation Companies to Its Portfolio

 

Proxima Capital, established in July 2016, focuses on the healthcare industry and serves exceptional medical technology innovation enterprises with significant growth potential. The fund’s core team members all have backgrounds in medical industrialization, having spent many years engaged in R&D, indication development, marketing, or investment and acquisitions at internationally leading companies such as Philips, ERBE, Boston Scientific, Johnson & Johnson, Medtronic, Pfizer, and Novartis. One of the founders has previously invested in and supported six companies that successfully achieved IPOs, while the other founder has incubated nearly 100 overseas medical innovation teams, delivering outstanding performance.


The core team possesses a global perspective and an international network of medical resources, demonstrating outstanding industry research capabilities and the ability to identify high-quality projects worldwide. It also boasts top-tier clinical medical resources and strong industrialization capabilities. Proxima Capital has established five international medical innovation and translation bases across China and forged close collaborations with leading hospitals nationwide to facilitate the clinical translation of innovative medical technologies. The platform provides end-to-end services for medical startups, including patent strategy, R&D, clinical trials, regulatory approval, and assistance with cGMP-certified production facilities.

 

During the fundraising process for its Phase II venture capital fund, Proxima Capital secured support from healthcare-focused institutional investors, including government guidance funds, healthcare-specific fund-of-funds, healthcare asset management firms, and publicly listed healthcare companies.
